BASE SYSTEM FOR AIR HANDLER
A base system for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a frame configured to support a housing of the HVAC system, where the frame includes a base rail configured to define a portion of a perimeter of the frame. The base rail includes a base segment configured to be disposed on a curb in an installed configuration of the HVAC system, an external wall extending from the base segment, a top segment extending from the external wall, an internal wall extending from the top segment, and a recessed flange extending from the internal wall and away from the external wall.
Multiple Fan HVAC System with Optimized Fan Location
A heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system that includes an outdoor heat exchanger (HX) and outdoor fans. The outdoor fans are arranged in either an in-line configuration or a staggered configuration to satisfy one or more requirements to optimize the airflow across the outdoor HXs.
INTEGRAL ENERGY RECOVERY VENTILATOR WITH BYPASS BY ROTATION FOR ROOFTOPS
A rooftop air conditioning unit includes a cabinet, an energy recovery wheel rotatably mounted within the cabinet, and a controller. The energy recovery wheel can transfer heat between an outdoor air stream and a return air stream when rotated into an operational position and will not transfer heat when rotated into a bypass position. The controller can select the operational position of the energy recovery wheel and an operational mode of the energy recovery wheel.
ADAPTIVE HVAC SUPPORT STRUCTURE
An illustrative example embodiment of a structure for supporting a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit includes a frame having support members configured to be situated beneath the HVAC unit to support a weight of the HVAC unit, which is directed in a vertical direction. The frame is at least partially situated in a plane that is perpendicular to the vertical direction. A supply air passage and a return air passage are supported by the frame. The return air passage has a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The first side is oriented at a first oblique angle relative to the plane. The second side is oriented at a second oblique angle relative to the plane. The first oblique angle is different than the second oblique angle.
PASSIVE/ACTIVE VENTILATION AND LIGHTING SYSTEM, APPARATUS, AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A singular passive/active ventilation and lighting apparatus for enclosed spaces. The apparatus is adapted to harness solar energy through a cover which also directs light down through a reflective tube. The apparatus provides a passive vent which is fluidly coupled to the same reflective tube. As the reflective tube couples the external environment with an enclosed space, passive/active ventilation and passive/active light is directed to the enclosed space. The solar energy is directed to other components supported by the singular apparatus, like the active lighting and active ventilation fan as well as a wireless router, an electric charger and power storage unit for storing the harnessed solar energy and powering the active components.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SUNSHADE ADJUSTMENT
The present disclosure is directed to a sunshade system that monitors a position of the sun and adjusts a position of a frame and/or blades based on a position of the sun. For example, a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit of an HVAC system may be exposed to adverse, external weather conditions, such as sunlight, which may heat up components of the HVAC unit and decrease an efficiency of the HVAC system. Accordingly, a control system of the sunshade system may monitor the position of the sun and adjust the position of the frame and/or the blades to provide adequate shading for the HVAC unit.
Multifunction adaptive whole house fan system
A multifunction adaptive whole house fan system can include a whole house fan to pull large volume of air through a building structure. The whole house fan can pull air from a motorized window or damper into the building structure and expel air through an attic. The system can monitor the environment to operate the whole house fan when desired conditions are present in coordination with other systems of the building structure to reduce overall energy consumption.
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning curb assembly
A heating, ventilation and air conditioning curb assembly includes a curb that has a planar profile for positioning on a flat roof of a building. A heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit is included that has dimensions which are unequal to dimensions of the curb. An adapter is positionable into the curb and the adapter has dimensions sufficient to accommodate dimensions of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit. Thus, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit can be installed onto the curb. A power unit is integrated into the curb to supply electrical power to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit in the event of a power outage thereby ensuring the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit continues to operate. A leveling unit is coupled to the adapter for leveling the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit.
