MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR MOUNTING SOLAR PANEL MODULES
A mounting system includes a base to mount to a surface, a mounting bracket to mount over the base and to the surface, a clamp for attaching to the mounting bracket and securing a rail segment, and a bonding clamp to mount to the rail segment and secure a solar panel module thereto.
FINISHED MULTI-SENSOR UNITS
A new system of solar construction, technology and methods for making off structure constructed panel blocks are disclosed.
Roof mount assembly with stabilized fastener matrix
A roof mount assembly implements a stabilized fastener matrix which functions to stabilize the fastener connection with a roof. In one embodiment, a base has a one-piece construction with angularly spaced stepped bores. Roofing fasteners each having a flat head are receivable in the bores and securable therein. Plugs each having a flat lower surface are threadably engageable in the threaded bore wherein the flat lower surface of the plug engages the flat head of the fastener. In a second embodiment, the base has a two-part construction comprising a bottom plate and a top plate. The bottom plate has a plurality of arcuate slots which are angularly spaced from one another. Elongated fasteners are received in the slots. A top plate has a crown and a connector projects from the crown. The top plate mounts onto the bottom plate to provide a stabilized connection with the roof. The mount assemblies are also efficiently sealable with the adjoining roof. In one embodiment, the top plate and lower plate mount highly compressible sealant members.
SINGLE-PIECE HINGED CLAMP FOR TRACK MOUNTING ASSEMBLIES
Single-piece hinged-clamps employed used in assemblies used to mount solar power modules to surface installation are disclosed. In some embodiments, a clamp with a right portion with a right notch having a right platform, a left portion with a left notch having a left platform, and a base portion with a flexible hinge is disclosed. The left portion also includes a threaded aperture extending downwardly from the left platform. In some embodiments, a method of securing a component with the clamp is disclosed in which a right member of a component is inserted into a right notch of a clamp, an applied force imparts movement of a left notch away from the right notch, and a buildup of potential energy in the flexible hinge during the application of the force moves the left notch in the opposite direction to engage the left member of the component.
ROOF MOUNT ASSEMBLY WITH STABILIZED FASTENER MATRIX
A roof mount assembly includes a bottom plate securable to a roofing structure and a top plate mounted on top of the bottom plate. The bottom plate includes a first compressible sealing pad affixed to a bottom surface and compressed between bottom plate and roofing surface. The top plate includes a second compressible sealing pad affixed to its bottom surface that is compressed when the top plate is secured mounted over the bottom plate via fasteners extending through holes in the top plate and threaded into bores in the bottom plate. The top plate may include a central crown and a connector projecting upward therefrom to secure an object over the roofing structure.
Photovoltaic mounting system with chemical flashing
Photovoltaic mounting systems that form chemical flashings are provided herein. Such sealant injection systems provide directional control and containment of sealant flow to form a chemical flashing that improves sealing of roof penetrations. Such systems can include a base assembly adapted to mount to a roof surface and support a mounting bracket having a photovoltaic module coupling device. The base assembly can include a sealant guide, a compressing plate and a sealant cartridge held between the guide and compressing plate by one or more coupling features of the guide. The coupling features can include a first set of features, such as a series of tabs, that facilitate coupling between the guide and the compressing plate. The base assembly can further include a base that releasably couples to the sealant guide by a second set of coupling features. Methods of mounting such base assemblies on roof surfaces are also provided.
Assembly for mounting a trim piece to a photovoltaic panel using standardized clamps
A monolithic trim piece is used for covering an opening between the edge of a photovoltaic module and the roof. The trim piece, with a curved front face, is attached to the underside of the photovoltaic module(s) using a standardized end-clamp (for a single module) or a standard mid-clamp (for a pair of modules). A threaded fastener with a T-shaped head can be used in a recessed channel located underneath an attachment flange of the trim piece.
TRAPEZOIDAL RIB MOUNTING BRACKET WITH FLEXIBLE LEGS
A mounting bracket (320) for trapezoidal rib profiles is disclosed. This mounting bracket (320) includes an upper section (330) and a lower section (350). A first leg (352a) in a second leg (352b) extend from a lower portion of the upper section (330) in diverging relation to one another. Each of these legs (352a, 352b) is deflectable through a certain range of motion to accommodate installation of the mounting bracket (320) on a variety of different trapezoidal rib profiles.
Roofing flash adapter cap and method of installing flash
Disclosed herein is a roof mount installation assembly. The roof mount installation assembly includes a roof mount, a flashing patch, and an adapter cap. The roof mount has a base and a threaded post. The flashing patch has an opening. The flashing patch is configured to surround the base. The opening is configured to allow the threaded post to extend therethrough. The adapter cap is configured to be removably mounted over the flashing patch. The adapter cap is configured to apply a force to the flashing patch for sealing the flashing patch around the roof mount.
Labor Saving Solar Roofing Shingle
Embodiments relate to an enhanced method for installing solar roofs by primarily reducing the installation time. The design is for a roofing shingle with an embedded solar module that installs intuitively like normal roofing shingles without special tools, fasteners or alignment. The shingle structure is molded out of low thermal expansion plastic composite and is compatible with commercial photovoltaic modules as well as solar infrared radiation absorbing devices.
