REFRIGERATOR

A refrigerator according to the present invention may comprise a first tray assembly forming one part of ice-making cells, and a second tray assembly forming the other part of same. Any one tray assembly, from among the first and second tray assemblies, comprises a first part forming at least a part of the ice-making cells, and a second part extending from a set point on the first part so as to reduce water supplied to the ice-making cells from leaking through a space between the first and second tray assemblies.

CONTAINER FOR STORING AND DISPENSING ICE CUBES

A container comprising a first compartment having a bottom portion, a side wall portion extending from the bottom portion up to an upper edge and a dispensing opening in the first compartment near the upper edge, said first compartment having a total volume V1 and said first compartment being suitable for containing ice cubes. The container further comprises a second compartment arranged below the first compartment when the container is in its upright position, said second compartment being separated from the first compartment by the bottom portion of the first compartment, said bottom portion having a drain opening through which water can pass from the first compartment to the second compartment, a volume V2 of the second compartment arranged underneath the drain opening being at least 10% of the volume V1 and said volume V2 and said drain opening being arranged such that ice cubes can be dispensed from the first compartment of the container by tipping the container around a horizontal axis and shaking the ice cubes out of the first compartment without ice melt water leaving the volume V2 when the volume of ice melt water is less than 10% of the volume of V1 and the container is tipped 95 degrees from its upright position. In this ways, a simple and easy way to dispense ice cubes is provided without risking undesired ice melt water from leaving the container.

A batch ice maker can execute a pulsed fill routine in which a control system pulses water from a water supply into the sump until the sump reaches a predefined freeze routine starting level. Pulsing may begin after continuously filling the sump to a fill-approach level. A batch ice maker can execute a differential freeze routine in which the control system circulates water from a sump to an ice formation device until water level decreases by a predefined differential amount from a high control water level based on the water level in the sump at a point in time after the sump was filled to a freeze routine starting level. The high control water level can be set based on water level in the sump when sump water temperature reaches a predefined pre-chill temperature. The predefined pre-chill temperature can be associated with a switchover from sensible cooling to latent cooling.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MASS PRODUCING HIGH QUALITY TRANSPARENT ICE CUBES

An ice cube maker having modules to mass produce high quality transparent ice cubes comprising an agitation system and a refrigeration system utilizing at least substantially one directional freezing of the water through a wall of an ice mold to make an ice cube having a center that is void of visible crystallization and void of a visible bubble with no visible cracking therein.

REFRIGERATOR

A refrigerator is provided. The refrigerator includes a refrigerator body, a door body and an ice making compartment. The refrigerator body includes a storage compartment. The door body is configured to open or dose the storage compartment. The ice making compartment is disposed in the storage compartment, and includes an ice making compartment shell, an ice maker, and an ice storage box. The ice maker is configured to make ice cubes. The ice storage box is located below the ice maker, and is configured to store the ice cubes made by the ice maker. The ice storage box includes a box body and a first ice baffle. At least a part of the first ice baffle is located in the box body, and the first ice baffle is configured to prevent the ice cubes from accumulating at a position of the box body close to the door body.

Hybrid ice maker

An ice making device provides an ice tray and a frame to hold the ice tray. The frame has a proximal end with a motor and a distal end with a circular opening. An insert positioned in the circular opening with a projection provides a vibrating motion to dislodge ice cubes from the ice tray. An ice tray includes an integrated heating circuit for sensing capacitance and releasing frozen ice cubes. An ice tray also includes a raised flange to prevent water from splashing out of the ice tray.

ICE CUBE TRAY

An ice cube tray includes a base and a lid for covering an open top of the base. The open top provides access to compartments for making individual ice cubes. The lid includes ridges on its bottom surface that define holding areas. When the lid covers the open top, such that the holding areas are facing the compartments, and the tray is turned upside down, ice cubes are released from the compartments and fall into the holding areas on the lid. When the base is moved away from the lid, the ice cubes are each held in a respective holding area for grasping by a user. Any ice cubes remaining on the lid remain held in the holding areas. The base can then be placed back over the lid and the tray can be turned right-side up, which returns the remaining ice cubes to their original compartments.

REFRIGERATOR AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

A refrigerator includes a storage chamber, a cold air supply which supplies cold air to the storage chamber, a first tray which forms a part of an ice making cell that is a space where water is phase-changed into ice by the cold air, a second tray which forms another part of the ice making cell and which may come into contact with the first tray during an ice making process and may be separated from the first tray during an ice transfer process, a heater adjacent to at least one of the first tray or the second tray, a sensor which determines the position of the second tray in a movement process of the second tray, and a control unit which controls the heater.

Ice making system and refrigeration apparatus

The present application relates to the field of ice making, and provides an ice making system and a refrigeration apparatus. The ice making system includes an ice making assembly, a water collecting tank located below the ice making assembly, and a water diversion ice rake structure. The water diversion ice rake structure includes: a pair of water receiving lateral wings, each of which is constructed with a rotary end and a free end; the pair of water receiving lateral wings are rotatably disposed on opposite sides of the ice making assembly through the respective rotary ends to rotate between an ice making position and an ice falling position. At the ice making position, the free ends of the pair of water receiving lateral wings are butted in a space between the ice making assembly and the water collecting tank to form a closure space with an opening facing the ice making assembly, and a water outlet communicating with the water collecting tank is constructed on one side of the closure space. The present application may solve the problems of condensed water dripping out and water splashing outward during ice making.
