COMPACT HIGH PERFORMANCE THROUGH-AIR APPARATUS
A high performance through-air apparatus is provided. The though-air apparatus includes a through-air roll configured for rotational movement about a first axis, and a high flow circuitous air path inside of the apparatus that includes a path extending through a supply conduit, through the through-air roll, and also through an exhaust conduit. The through-air apparatus also includes a plurality of turning vanes positioned within the high flow circuitous path positioned to guide the flow of air through the apparatus. The through-air apparatus has a length, a width, a height, which together define a volume having a compact configuration. The high flow circuitous air path inside of the apparatus has a length, where the ratio of the volume of the through-air apparatus to the length of the high flow circuitous air path is less than 20 m.sup.2.

THROUGH-AIR APPARATUS TO REDUCE INFILTRATION OF AMBIENT AIR
A through-air apparatus for drying or bonding paper, tissue, or nonwoven webs is provided. The apparatus includes a web-carrying structure configured to move and a first component having at least one sealing element adjacent the web-carrying structure, where the sealing element is configured to reduce the infiltration of ambient air into the through-air apparatus. The apparatus also includes at least one channel configured to direct air to the sealing element to reduce the infiltration of ambient air into the through-air apparatus. A method of operating a through-air apparatus for drying or bonding paper, tissue, or nonwoven webs is also provided. The method includes directing air to a sealing element to reduce the infiltration of ambient air into the through-air apparatus.
Low pressure laundry treating appliance
An apparatus and method for a low pressure laundry treating appliance having a cabinet defining an interior, and a drum provided within the interior, the drum including at least an inner wall and an outer wall. Pressure differentiations and flash evaporation can enable drying without excess use of conventional heating methods.

DRYER FOR A TEXTILE WEB, WITH IMPROVED HOT-AIR SUPPLY
A dryer for a textile web includes a drying chamber having at least one air-permeable drum arranged in the drying chamber to rotate, wherein the drum includes an end face constituting an axially arranged suction side, the textile web is wrapable at least partially around the drum and heated drying air is flowable through the textile web. A hot gas source provides heated gas. A ventilator forms a suction draft via the suction side of the drum with drying air from inside of the drum and drying air that recirculates back into the drying chamber. At least one hot gas feeding ring encloses the suction draft and is configured to permit the hot gas from the hot gas source to flow essentially completely into the suction draft.
DRYING APPARATUS AND DRYER FOR A TEXTILE WEB COMPRISING AN IMPROVED DEVICE FOR INTRODUCING HEAT
A drying apparatus includes a dryer for a textile web. The dryer includes a drying chamber and at least one air-permeable drum arranged to rotate in the drying chamber. The textile web is guidable over a partial section of the circumference of the drum and heated drying air is flowable through the textile web. The dryer further includes a device to introduce heat for heating up the drying air. The device includes an internal hot gas source and an external hot gas source. The internal hot gas source is a component of the dryer and the external hot gas source is arranged peripherally to the dryer and includes a hot gas line connected at least indirectly to the dryer.
