There is provided a transport device which transports a web-shaped substrate from a first atmosphere of a first atmosphere temperature to a second atmosphere of a second atmosphere temperature different from the first atmosphere temperature along a transport path, the transport device including a plurality of pass rollers that are disposed in the transport path and that each support the substrate, and a plurality of heaters that heat the plurality of pass rollers respectively. The plurality of heaters perform heating such that the closer a pass roller is to an upstream side of the transport path, the closer a temperature to which the pass roller is heated is to the first atmosphere temperature and the closer a pass roller is to a downstream side of the transport path, the closer a temperature to which the pass roller is heated is to the second atmosphere temperature.

Dryer rollers of a print system with increasing contact area

Systems and methods for dryer rollers of a print system with increasing wrap angles. In one embodiment a dryer includes a turning device configured to rotate about an axis, and to guide a web of print media. The dryer also includes rollers configured to transport the web from an entrance of the dryer to the turning device. The rollers include a series of three or more rollers positioned in the dryer to consecutively increase an amount of contact area with the web as the web travels toward the turning device.

A siphon elbow for pivotally connecting a first pipe and a second pipe in fluid communication. A first elongated body has a bore extending therethrough and a partially spherical indentation within the bore. A second elongated body has a bore extending therethrough and a generally spherical extension on a first end that pivotally engages the partially spherical indentation of the first elongated body. An internal locking system is disposed in at least one of the bores and locks the second elongated body into an operating configuration in which an angle formed between the first elongated body and the second elongated body is less than 180-degrees. Pivoting of the second elongated body from an installation configuration in which the angle is approximately 180-degrees to the operating configuration activates the internal locking system.

DRYING DEVICE AND PRINTING APPARATUS

A drying device includes a first heater, a second heater, a conveyance path, and an infrared heater. The first heater contacts and heats a medium on which liquid is applied. The second heater contacts and heats the medium. The second heater contacts the medium at a distance longer than a distance at which the first heater contacts the medium. The conveyance path of the medium includes a first conveyance-path portion and a second conveyance-path portion. The medium is conveyed while contacting the first heater in the first conveyance-path portion. The first conveyance-path portion is disposed upstream from the second heater in a direction of conveyance of the medium. The second conveyance-path portion is disposed downstream from the second heater in the direction of conveyance of the medium. The infrared heater is disposed in the second conveyance-path portion, to irradiate an infrared ray to the medium.

METHOD OF DRYING WET PAPER AND WASTE PAPER RECYCLING APPARATUS

In a press area, a wet paper is pressed against a heating surface to heat the wet paper with a conveying surface to conveying the wet paper to form a pressure regulating gap between the heating surface and the conveying surface. The pressure regulating gap is provided in a size less than a thickness of the wet paper and more than a thickness of recycled paper to be produced therefrom.

Bi-Directional Pick-Up Shoe

An apparatus for removing fluid, such as condensate, from the inside of a rotating cylinder 10. The apparatus comprises a syphon shoe 50 proximate to the inside surface 35 of the rotating cylinder 10. The syphon shoe 50 is connected a syphon pipe 29. The syphon shoe 50 further comprises two opposing circumferential openings 51, 52 and a divider 60. The two opposing circumferential openings 51, 52 are disposed substantially parallel to the direction of rotation of the rotating cylinder 10. The divider separates the opposing circumferential openings 51, 52 and extends radially from the end of the syphon end 50.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing natural fiber based staple fibers on a common surface

The application relates to a method and apparatus for manufacturing a natural fiber based staple fibers. The application further relates to the staple fibers, staple fiber based raw wool and products comprising such. A method comprises providing a cellulose suspension (101, 310, 510) including water, refined cellulose fibrils and at least one rheology modifier, directing the cellulose suspension through a nozzle (102, 320, 520) onto a surface (300, 400, 500), drying the cellulose suspension onto the surface (103, 300, 400, 500) for forming a fiber (350, 550), and cutting the cellulose suspension on the surface for forming staple fibers (105).
