The second oven body has a width wider than the side-to-side width of the first oven body. The width of the second oven body corresponds to a body width of the vehicle body in a state of opening the side doors.

An apparatus and method for providing a simpler and more robust mechanism for transporting materials to be dried through a vacuum microwave chamber in rotating containers. The apparatus (20) has a vacuum chamber (22), an input end (26) to introduce a container (24) into the chamber, and a discharge end (28) to remove the container. The container has spur gear teeth (60) extending along its outer circumferential surface. The apparatus has a single roller (42) having spur gear teeth (46) extending along its outer circumferential surface. The spur gear teeth of the roller mesh with the spur gear teeth of the container such that rotation of the roller about its longitudinal axis rotates the container. The temperature-control chamber is assigned at least one heating unit in which it is possible to generate a hot primary gas flow and to which it is possible to supply, from the air outlet, air that is to be heated. The heating unit includes a heat exchanger device into which the hot primary gas can be guided and in which it is possible to heat air from the temperature-control chamber using hot primary gas, which air can be supplied, as heated recirculation air, in a circuit via the at least one air inlet back to the temperature-control chamber. The heating unit includes at least a first and a second flow outlet via which heated recirculation air leaves the heating unit.

A device for controlling the temperature of, and in particular for drying, objects, in particular vehicle bodies, having a housing which integrates a temperature-control chamber that includes at least one air outlet and at least one air inlet. The temperature-control chamber is assigned at least one heating unit in which it is possible to generate a hot primary gas flow and to which it is possible to supply, from the air outlet, air that is to be heated. The heating unit includes a heat exchanger device into which the hot primary gas can be guided and in which it is possible to heat air from the temperature-control chamber using hot primary gas, which air can be supplied, as heated recirculation air, in a circuit via the at least one air inlet back to the temperature-control chamber. The heating unit includes at least a first and a second flow outlet via which heated recirculation air leaves the heating unit.

A paint baking oven comprises an oven body and a hot air supplier that supplies hot air into the oven body. The paint baking oven bakes a wet coating applied to a vehicle body while conveying the vehicle body. The vehicle body includes a body exterior part and a narrow portion. The oven body is configured to include a spot baking region in which the hot air is blown primarily toward the narrow portion to locally bake a coating film applied to the narrow portion.

The present invention provides improved apparatus and methods for the monitoring and control of apparatus designed to remove moisture from an initially wet product, such as a continuous dryer (14). The net rate of water removal from the wet product (16) is determined during drying thereof, preferably on a real-time basis. A control assembly (20) is operatively coupled with the dryer (14) and includes sensors (24, 26, 28, 34), which are operatively coupled with a digital controller (38). The controller (38) has a PID controller operable to continuously determine the average net rate of water removal from the product (16).

In order to provide a treatment installation for treating workpieces that is of simple construction and enables optimised workpiece treatment, it is proposed that the treatment installation should include a treatment chamber and a conveying device, by means of which the workpieces are suppliable to the treatment chamber, are removable from the treatment chamber, and/or are conveyable through the treatment chamber in a conveying direction.
