A device for controlling the temperature of workpieces, in particular for drying vehicle bodies, having a housing, a temperature-controlling tunnel accommodated in the housing, and a temperature-controlling system for controlling the temperature of workpieces. The temperature-controlling system includes a full-space temperature-controlling device which can control the temperature of a workpiece as a whole, and a local temperature-controlling device which can control the temperature of locally delimited regions of the workpiece and which comprises multiple temperature-controlling units that can be activated and actuated independently of one another for this purpose. The full-space temperature-controlling device and the local temperature-controlling device are provided in the temperature-controlling tunnel such that a workpiece at least within an active section in the temperature-controlling tunnel can be under the influence of both the full-space temperature-controlling device as well as the local temperature-controlling device. A system and a method for controlling the temperature of workpieces are additionally provided.

DRYING FURNACE AND COATING DRYING METHOD
A drying furnace comprises a plurality of drying areas that are continuously provided along a longitudinal direction of the furnace and include a first hot air supply port, a second hot air supply port, and an exhaust port. The first hot air supply port is arranged at a position below a vehicle body in the furnace shell to discharge hot air diagonally upward. The second hot air supply port is arranged at a position higher than the first hot air supply port in the furnace shell to discharge hot air diagonally downward. The exhaust port is arranged at a position lower than the first hot air supply port and the second hot air supply port in the furnace shell to discharge the hot air outside the furnace shell. The drying furnace uniformly raises the temperature of the external and internal parts of the vehicle body while shortening the furnace length.

An apparatus for controlling the temperature of workpieces, in particular of vehicle bodies, has a temperature-control tunnel, a traction chamber and an intermediate floor which is arranged between the temperature-control tunnel and the traction chamber and which has a connection passage. The apparatus includes a conveying device for conveying the workpieces in the temperature-control tunnel, wherein the conveying device has at least one conveying carriage with a running gear and has a workpiece carrier for holding the workpieces of which the temperature is to be controlled. The running gear is arranged in the traction chamber and is connected by a connecting device, which projects through the connection passage of the intermediate floor, to the workpiece carrier arranged in the temperature-control tunnel. To control the temperature of the traction chamber and thus adequately protect the running gear against heat or cold, the intermediate floor is equipped at least in regions with an active cooling and/or heating means.

A continuous wood modification by heat process, that comprises: stacking wooden boards on a trolley at intervals; exerting pressure on said wooden boards; transferring said wooden boards to a heating kiln, pre-heated by microwave and hot air circulation, that has a water vapor flow of 2-5 meter3/hour, a temperature range of 60-100° C., and a humidity range of 50%-100%; transferring said wooden boards to a shallow drying kiln, pre-heated by microwave and hot air circulation, that has a drying temperature of 100-120° C.; transferring said wooden boards to a deep drying kiln, pre-heated by microwave and hot air circulation, that has a drying temperature of 120-120° C., an oxygen content range of 1-10%, and a water vapor flow rate of 1-10 m3/hour; transferring said wooden boards to a carbonization kiln, pre-heated by microwave and hot air circulation, that has a temperature range of 120-180° C., an oxygen content range of 1%-5%; transferring said wooden boards to a slow cooling kiln, that has a temperature range of 120-130° C., and an oxygen content range of 1%-10%; transferring said wooden boards to a fast cooling kiln, that has a temperature range of 90-100° C.; transferring said wooden boards to a rewetting kiln, that has a humidity range of 50%-100%; providing water vapor to said rewetting kiln; while being in said rewetting kiln, and when a temperature range of said wooden boards is 40-60° C., and a moisture content of said wooden boards is 6%-10%, transferring said wooden boards out of said rewetting kiln; wherein each of said heating kiln, said shallow drying kiln, said deep drying kiln, said carbonization kiln, said slow cooling kiln, said fast cooling kiln, and said rewetting kiln comprises a fan, a partition board, a shunt hood, and an exhaust port; wherein said partition board divides an interior of each of said heating kiln, said shallow drying kiln, said deep drying kiln, said carbonization kiln, said slow cooling kiln, said fast cooling kiln, and said rewetting kiln into an upper chamber and a lower chamber; wherein said shunt hood is disposed in said upper chamber; wherein said fan, said shunt hood, and said lower chamber are connected and form a air channel; wherein said lower chamber comprises a shunt plate, disposed along left and right walls of a kiln; wherein said shunting plate comprises a plurality of sieve holes that are disposed gradually dense from top to bottom; wherein one end of said shunt plate is connected with said partition board and the other end is connected with the bottom of a kiln.

In order to provide a treatment installation for treating workpieces that is of simple construction and enables optimised workpiece treatment, it is proposed that the treatment installation should include a treatment chamber and a conveying device, by means of which the workpieces are suppliable to the treatment chamber, are removable from the treatment chamber, and/or are conveyable through the treatment chamber in a conveying direction.

Air loaded with the water vapor and having a preset dew point temperature T.sub.T is generated in the thawing chamber, and the dew point temperature T.sub.T is adapted to the transport transporting bulk material.
Method for coating a five-sided container with sag-resistant water-based coating compositions
The present invention provides a water-based coating and/or coating system used to form sag resistant wet layers or coatings on a wide range of substrates. The coating system is effective for protecting metal-containing substrates, such as intermodal cargo containers, against corrosion. As an overview, the present invention provides water-based compositions as primer coats on substrates, and methods for applying the same to substrates. The method includes steps of applying a water-based paint to the interior surfaces of a substrate and drying the substrate by continuously forcing heated air onto the substrate as it moves through a drying chamber. Desirably, the primer incorporates a high level of one or more CAS agents for excellent sag resistance while drying in a broad range of relative humidity environments. Alternatively, modifications can be made to control temperature and humidity during spray application and drying as a way to increase sag resistance of the coating.
