HEAT PIPE FOR SUBMERGED COMBUSTION BURNER
20230184429 · 2023-06-15 ·

A submerged combustion burner, a submerged combustion melter including the submerged combustion burner, and method of operating the submerged combustion burner are disclosed. The submerged combustion burner includes central burner tube and a heat pipe that surrounds and extends beyond a terminal end of the central burner tube. When received in a burner opening defined in a melting tank of a submerged combustion melter, the heat pipe of the submerged combustion burner is disposed between the central burner tube and the floor of the melting tank. The heat pipe transfers or pumps heat via a sealed working fluid to a cooling fluid that thermally communicates with the heat pipe exterior to the melting tank.

TEMPERING FURNACE FOR GLASS SHEETS

The present disclosure relates to a tempering furnace for a glass sheet, which has a conveyor for the glass sheet, first convection blow means over the conveyor to heat the glass sheet by hot air jets blown on its top and/or bottom surface, and second convection blow means to help lead pressurized air from outside the tempering furnace to second blow nozzles from which air is discharged as jets towards the top and/or bottom surface of the glass sheet. The heating effect of the air jets on the glass sheet is adjustable by adjusting the feeding of electric current to electric elements inside blowing channels. Blow nozzles of the second convection blow means form blow zones. The heating effect on the glass sheet of the jets discharged from the second blow nozzles inside the blow zones is adjustable by adjusting the blowing pressure of feed pipes.

SUBMERGED FEEDSTOCK CHARGING OF MELTING VESSELS

A melting furnace feedstock charger includes a charger conduit including an inlet to receive feedstock and an outlet at an outlet portion of the charger conduit to transmit feedstock, and an auger or other feedstock mover coupled to the charger conduit to convey feedstock in a direction from the inlet toward the outlet. A gate may be detachably coupled to the outlet portion of the charger conduit and configured to be coupled directly to a wall of a melting vessel. The auger may have a helical flight with an outer diameter of varying size. A stripper may be movably carried by the charger conduit and may include a stripping tool moved by an actuator with respect to the charger conduit to facilitate transmission of feedstock and/or to strip away clogged feedstock and/or molten material.

INDUSTRIAL FURNACE INTEGRATED WITH BIOMASS GASIFICATION SYSTEM

An integrated apparatus of industrial furnace and biomass gasification system and a process of operating said system are disclosed. Hot flue gas containing high concentration of CO.sub.2 and water issued from an industrial furnace such as a glass furnace or a melting furnace for non-ferrous metals is introduced into a biomass gasification system as a heat source to promote the pyrolysis of biomass and/or as a gasification agent to generate syngas. The generated syngas is blended with solid-fuel such as petcoke before being introduced into the industrial furnace to facilitate ignition and combustion of petcoke. Overall CO.sub.2, NO.sub.x and SO.sub.x emission from the industrial furnace are reduced, and the lifetime of the industrial furnace is increased.

LARGE MICRO-CRYSTALLIZED GLASS-LINED PIPELINE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A pipeline has two groups of reinforcing circular ring bodies welded on large flanges at two ends of the pipeline, reinforcing rebar plates and integral reinforcing steel circular pipe fittings are combined and welded symmetrically. Microcrystalline glass lining has level-8 Mohs hardness. By adopting an openable and closeable extra-long horizontal electric heating furnace provided by the present invention and an intelligent temperature control instrument in combination with a new heating-while-rotating process, the extra-large and extra-long integral large micro-crystallized glass-lined pipeline which is high in glass lining layer quality, smooth in circulation, durable, non-corrosive, wear-resistant, high in seismic performance and safe in operation is developed. Various existing pipelines will be inevitably and comprehensively replaced due to comprehensive extra-strong advantages.
