WOOD TEMPLATE-SUPPORTED PHASE CHANGE COMPOSITE FOR THERMAL ENERGY APPLICATIONS
The present disclosure relates to wood template-supported phase change material (PCM) composites having thermal energy storage applications. A wood template-supported PCM composite may include a wood template that has had at least a portion of its xylan and/or lignin removed and saturated with a PCM. The PCM may be stabilized with a cross linkable network for improved infiltration into the wood template. The wood template-supported PCM composite may be formed by extracting xylan and/or lignin from the wood to create a wood template, densifying at least a portion of the wood template, and inserting a PCM into the wood template.
HEAT STORAGE MEMBER
A heat storage member including a substrate containing a SiC sintered body as a principal ingredient and a heat storage material configured to store and radiate heat by a reversible chemical reaction with a reaction medium or a heat storage material configured to store and radiate heat by physical adsorption to a reaction medium and physical desorption from a reaction medium. The substrate has a three-dimensional network structure including a skeleton having porosity of 1% or less. A void ratio of a void formed in the three-dimensional network structure of the substrate is ranging from 30 to 95%. The heat storage material is disposed at least in a part of a surface of the void in the three-dimensional network structure of the substrate.

In one aspect, methods of managing the temperature of a room are described herein. In some embodiments, such a method described herein comprises disposing a fixture in an interior of the room, wherein the fixture comprises or contains a phase change material. Additionally, in some cases, the fixture is a decorative fixture, such as a piece of artwork.
