APPARATUS FOR SUPPLYING OR DISSIPATING HEAT, FOR CARRYING OUT REACTIONS AND FOR MIXING AND DISPERSING FLOWING MEDIA
An apparatus for supplying and dissipating heat, for carrying out reactions and for mixing and dispersing flowing media in a housing with an internal diameter for a medium and comprising internal fittings made up of a bundle of tubes with an external diameter or made up of other elongate elements oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing is provided. The apparatus includes crosspieces or crosspiece layers installed crosswise between the elongate elements. The crosspieces are inclined in relation to the longitudinal axis of the housing and are not in contact. After axially successive crosspieces, or a length, the crosspieces are installed between the tubes and turned by preferably 90°. A heat-transfer medium can flow in a co-current or counter-current mode. This results in a mixer/heat exchanger or reactor with an extremely large heat-transfer capacity and almost plug flow.
Cooling device
A cooling device includes a cooler disposed inside a shell main body formed in a cylindrical shape, and having a first surface facing an inlet nozzle and an outlet nozzle, and a partition member fixed to the first surface, and partitioning a portion between the cooler and an inner peripheral surface of the shell main body into a first space communicating with the inlet nozzle and a second space communicating with the outlet nozzle. The partition member includes a main partition plate disposed between the inlet nozzle and the outlet nozzle in an axial direction, a first guide portion extending from an end portion of the main partition plate toward a first end surface of the shell main body, and a second guide portion extending from an end portion of the main partition plate toward a second end surface of the shell main body.
CONTINUOUS HELICAL BAFFLE HEAT EXCHANGER
A heater includes a flow guide and a plurality of electrical resistance heating elements. The flow guide defines a continuous geometric helicoid disposed about a longitudinal axis of the heater assembly. The flow guide defines a predetermined pattern of perforations that extend in a longitudinal direction through a first longitudinal length of the geometric helicoid, the longitudinal direction being parallel to the longitudinal axis. The plurality of electrical resistance heating elements extend through the perforations. At least one electrical resistance heating element of the plurality of electrical resistance heating elements has a first region with a first watt density and a second region with a second watt density. The second region is located farther in the longitudinal direction than the first region. The second watt density is less than the first watt density.
CONTINUOUS HELICAL BAFFLE HEAT EXCHANGER
A heater includes a flow guide and electrical resistance heating elements. The flow guide defines a continuous geometric helicoid disposed about a longitudinal axis and defines perforations that extend in a longitudinal direction through a first longitudinal length of the geometric helicoid. The first longitudinal length is less than a full longitudinal length of the geometric helicoid. The electrical resistance heating elements extend through the perforations. For each electrical resistance heating element, a length of that electrical resistance heating element and a pitch of the geometric helicoid at a distal end of that electrical resistance heating element are such that the distal end of that electrical resistance heating element is a distance X from the geometric helicoid at the distal end of that electrical resistance heating element. The distance X is less than or equal to 40% of the pitch at the distal end of that electrical resistance heating element.
Flow-guiding rod, bushing and converter transformer system
A flow-guiding rod includes a cooling channel provided in a rod portion of the flow-guiding rod, and a coolant inlet pipe and a coolant outlet pipe provided on end(s) of the flow-guiding rod. The coolant inlet pipe and the coolant outlet pipe are communicated with the cooling channel.
Continuous helical baffle heat exchanger
A heater assembly includes a continuous series of perforated helical members and a plurality of electrical resistance heating elements. The perforated helical members cooperate to define a geometric helicoid disposed about a longitudinal axis of the heater assembly. Each perforated helical member defines opposed edges and a predetermined pattern of perforations. The perforations extend through each perforated helical member parallel to the longitudinal axis. The heating elements extend through the perforations.
COUNTER-FLOW HEAT EXCHANGER
A heat exchanger includes a casing having a first inlet, a first outlet, a second inlet, and a second outlet, and a plate assembly positioned between the first inlet and the first outlet and between the second inlet and the second outlet and at least partially in the casing, the plate assembly is being configured to transfer heat between a first fluid and a second fluid. The heat exchanger also includes a first plenum connecting a first side of the plate assembly and configured to direct the first fluid from first inlet to the plate assembly, and a second plenum connecting a second side of the plate assembly and configured to direct the first fluid from the plate assembly to the first outlet. An exterior of the second plenum is in contact with the second fluid, and the second plenum is configured to resiliently deflect in response to thermal expansion.

A plate fin heat exchanger comprises a circular section tubular shell. The shell comprises a plurality of first shell openings arranged along a length of the shell and a plurality of second shell openings arranged along a length of the shell. A first fluid plenum is provided on the shell in fluid communication with the first shell openings.
