Transfer Apparatus
20220041035 · 2022-02-10 ·

A heat transfer apparatus includes an outer shell, an internal core body, and a flexible diaphragm extending from the core body to an interior surface of the outer shell. The shell includes a first inlet that receives a first fluid, a second inlet that receives a second fluid, a first outlet through which the first fluid exits the shell, and a second outlet through which the second fluid exits the shell. The core body forms first interior passageways that fluidly couple the first inlet with the first outlet and second interior passageways that fluidly couple the second inlet with the second outlet. The flexible diaphragm forms a flexible transition between each of the first inlet and the second inlet of the shell and the core body, and forms a seal that prevents the first fluid in the first interior passageways from flowing into the second interior passageways.

MULTI-BRANCH FURCATING FLOW HEAT EXCHANGER

A heat exchanger is provided. The heat exchanger (40) provides a first plurality of tubes (50) and a second plurality of flow passages (52) which furcate near one of the first (42) and second (44) manifolds into two or more furcated flow passages and subsequently converge to exit the heat exchanger. The plurality of furcated flow passages are intertwined, reducing the distance between flow passages (50,52) containing each fluid therebetween to improve thermal transfer. Further, the furcations create changes of direction of the fluid to re-establish new thermal boundary layers within the flow passages to further reduce resistance to thermal transfer.

Methods and systems for controlling temperature in a vessel

A system for preheating a pressure vessel includes a throat including an area of excess heat and a dome having an area of deficient heat. The throat includes a conduit extending from a pressure vessel opening to the pressure vessel interior. A plenum is defined between the throat and a seal within the dome. The throat extends from the dome toward a dome floor. The floor is substantially perpendicular to the throat. A conduit is coupled to the plenum and channels a flow of purge fluid into the plenum wherein heat from the throat is transferred to the flow of purge fluid and carried by the flow of purge fluid into the area of deficient heat via a gap defined between the seal and the floor such that the flow of purge fluid reduces temperature differential stresses within the pressure vessel and purges the area of deficient heat.

Heat exchanger

The disclosure presents a heat exchanger having flat tubes received in a double header plate. The double header plate includes a complementary arrangement of a main header plate and a reinforcement header plate. Slots are arranged in one of the header plate and complementary tabs are arranged in the other header plate. The tabs are configured to engage the slots to enable a complementary alignment of the two header plates.

Return waterbox for heat exchanger

A return waterbox for a heat exchanger, such as a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, is provided. The return waterbox may include an insert configured to direct a fluid flow(s) in the return waterbox. In some embodiments, such as in a two-pass heat exchanger, the insert can be configured to receive water from one portion of the heat exchanger tubes in the first pass and redirect the received water to another portion of the heat exchanger tubes in the second pass.

Apparatus and method for protecting the tube-sheet of a syngas loop boiler

A syngas loop boiler includes a casing that surrounds a tube bundle, wherein the tube bundle includes a plurality of tubes. One end of each of the tubes is joined to a tube-sheet provided with corresponding tube-sheet inlet holes for inletting the syngas in the boiler, wherein each tube-sheet inlet hole is internally provided with at least a protective sleeve welded at both ends to corresponding surfaces of the tube-sheet inlet hole. Each tube-sheet inlet hole is provided with a first respective weld overlay placed at the inlet mouth of the tube-sheet inlet hole, so that a first end of each protective sleeve is welded to the first weld overlay. Each tube-sheet inlet hole is internally provided with at least a bore groove that contains a respective in-bore second weld overlay, so that the second end of the protective sleeve is welded to the in-bore second weld overlay. Each protective sleeve is thus welded at both ends to respective weld overlays, with the possibility of removal and re-installation without performing any post weld heat treatment.

HEAT EXCHANGER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HEAT EXCHANGER

The invention relates to a heat exchanger for a motor vehicle, comprising a heat exchanger block and at least one collection box with a tube plate. The heat exchanger block is made of a plurality of adjacent tubes and corrugated rib elements arranged between the tubes, and one of the end regions of the tubes is received in the tube plate of the collection box in a fluid-tight manner. The tube plate of the collection box is made of plastic and is injection molded onto the heat exchanger block. A spacer element through which the tubes are guided is arranged between the tube plate of the collection box and the heat exchanger block, and the corrugated rib elements are spaced from the tube plate of the collection box by the spacer. The invention further relates to a method for producing a heat exchanger.

Heat exchanger having additional refrigerant channel

A heat exchanger, particularly for a heating or air conditioning system for motor vehicles, includes at least one inlet channel and at least one outlet channel and at least one collector, which has at least two metal sheets or plates abutting each other, and a flow device through which a first medium can flow, while a second medium can flow around the flow device. The first medium is distributed by an inlet channel to the collector and to the flow device and can be conducted to an outlet channel, and at least one further channel for distributing the coolant is provided, which is connected in a communicating manner via at least one opening to the inlet channel.
