The modular system includes a number of heat exchanger elements and a number of guiding elements. Each heat exchanger element includes a folded sheet material including a plurality of slits extending in a longitudinal direction of the folded sheet material, which longitudinal extending slits form the fluids flow paths. The folded sheet material is cast in one piece in an outer casing. A central opening of the outer casing covers an outer circumference of the folded sheet material, exposing a front side and a back side of the folded sheet material where two through holes, forming the inlets and outlets for each fluid, are provided on opposite sides of the central opening of the outer casing. Each guiding element includes two inlets and two outlets for fluids, and a bead or edge, provided on one side, forming an enclosure around the inlet and outlet for a first fluid, and a bead or edge on an opposite side, forming an enclosure around the inlet and outlet for a second fluid. Heat exchanger elements and guiding elements are arranged successively following each other. The heat exchanger elements are arranged that two adjacent heat exchanger elements on sides facing each other carry the same fluid.
SPIRAL TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER
A heat exchanger includes a first fluid pathway enclosed in a heat exchanger body to convey a first fluid through the heat exchanger body and a second fluid pathway enclosed in the heat exchanger body to convey a second fluid through the heat exchanger body and facilitate thermal energy exchange between the first fluid and the second fluid. The first fluid pathway and the second fluid pathway together are arranged in a spiral arrangement extending along a central axis of the heat exchanger.
Heat exchanger with improved wave junction, associated installation of air separation and method for manufacturing such an exchanger
The invention relates to a heat exchanger for vaporizing a coolant fluid by heat exchange with a calorigenic fluid, said exchanger comprising several parallel plates defining a plurality of passages between them which are suitable for the coolant fluid or calorigenic fluid to flow, a first wave and a second wave extending between two successive plates so as to define a plurality of channels within the same passage, said first and second waves comprising two adjacent edges, at least one assembly member extending from one edge to the other so as to connect the waves to one another. According to the invention, the assembly member is forcibly engaged in at least one part of a channel of the first wave on one hand, and in at least one part of a channel of the second wave on the other hand.
VARIABLE CORE HEAT EXCHANGER WITH FLOW CONTROL
A heat exchanger includes a core. The core includes a first layer and a second layer. The first layer includes a first plurality of fluid inlets. The second layer includes a second plurality of fluid inlets. The heat exchanger also includes a fluid header attached to the core adjacent the first plurality of fluid inlets and the second plurality of fluid inlets. The fluid header includes an inlet, an outlet, a plenum between the inlet and the outlet, and a flow control mechanism within the plenum. The flow control mechanism selectively directs fluid through the first plurality of fluid inlets, through the second plurality of fluid inlets, or through both the first plurality of fluid inlets and the second plurality of fluid inlets.
Gas flow conditioner device for a heat exchanger
Flow conditioner device (40), for use in a heat exchanger system (10). The flow conditioner device includes a honeycomb structure (42) and a mesh (44). The honeycomb structure is configured for rectifying an incoming gas flow (26), and is formed by walls that border channels extending in a flow direction (X) from inlet apertures at a leading surface, to respective outlet apertures at a trailing surface of the honeycomb structure. The mesh is formed by a plurality of wires that extend along further directions (Y, Z) transverse to the flow direction, and which are mutually spaced to define openings. The mesh is attached directly to the honeycomb structure and abuts the second surface, and cross-sectional areas of the openings defined along the further directions vary as a function of position along at least one of the further directions.
Exhaust gas heat exchanger
