Force damping shooting rest system and method

A system for shooting an armament includes a connector configured to connect to a supporting structure, a side to side windage device connected to the connector, an up and down windage device connected to the connector, at least one guide rail connected to the up and down windage device, a carriage slidably connected to the at least one guide rail, and a gas spring connected to the carriage and the up and down windage device. The system rests a gun during shooting, assists steady aim, and limits any significant jarring and recoil impacting the gun, the system and any support, as well as virtually eliminates recoil force borne by the shooter.

This invention relates to the field of firearms, and in particular, though not exclusively to a support for a firearm. One aspect provides a support for a firearm for supporting the firearm above a surface, the support comprising a support body and at least two surface-engaging support legs, the support further comprising a projection which is received within a recess defined by a connection element attached to or integral with the firearm to longitudinally restrain the firearm with respect to the support, in which the support further comprises a ball detent mechanism, the ball detent mechanism including at least one ball which is biased to engage a further recess defined by the connection element attached to or integral with the firearm, the ball detent mechanism being operated by a release mechanism to withdraw the said at least one ball from the further recess, and in which the release mechanism comprises a user grippable element which extends below the projection.

UNMANNED FLYING GRENADE LAUNCHER
20190367169 · 2019-12-05 ·

An unmanned flying grenade launcher system is provided. The unmanned flying grenade launcher can include a portable unmanned aerial vehicle with an attachment apparatus configured to receive a standardized grenade launcher, and a servo coupled to adjust the angle of the grenade launcher relative to the portable unmanned aerial vehicle downward relative to the unmanned aerial vehicle. One or more telemetry systems can provide a visual indication of the unmanned aerial vehicle's surroundings to an operator, and can receive flight commands and firing commands from the operator such that a firing mechanism fires the standardized grenade launcher in response to the firing command.

Armed aerial platform

An armed aerial platform (100) includes a weapon for firing a projectile from a barrel (102) that defines a weapon axis (104). The weapon is supported by a single-axis gimbal mechanism (116) within a central vertical slot (112) in a rigid body (108) of a UAV (108) carried by a propulsion system (114) including at least four rotary propulsion units. The gimbal mechanism (116) provides an elevation adjustment of the weapon axis (104), while the azimuth adjustment is provided by motion of the UAV (108) itself.

Mountable fixture for absorbing recoil

A fixture is provided for supporting load from weapons recoil, being mountable on a flat bed of a road vehicle disposed on ground. The flat bed can receive a weapons mount. The vehicle has longitudinal, lateral and vertical orientation directions. The fixture includes a horizontal deck, a slide assembly, a dampener housing, port and starboard lateral beams, together with first, second and third posts. The horizontal deck receives the weapons mount. The slide assembly supports the deck. The dampener housing receives the slide assembly. The port and starboard lateral beams extend laterally from the dampener housing. The first and second posts extend vertically downward from their corresponding beams to engage the ground. The third post extends vertically downward from the housing to engage the ground. Brackets on the slide assembly extend longitudinally from the platform for enabling the vehicle to drive away from the fixture. The posts are retractable for stowage and extendible for raising the flat bed above the ground.
