Attenuating blast cone

A blast attenuator for blast overpressure has features that allow for blast attenuation and ease of projectile loading from the muzzle of the weapon system. This combination of physical ease of use and blast reduction allows the system to achieve high levels of performance without making significant concessions to operator safety.

A bolt action rifle having a receiver; a bolt in slidable communication within said receiver, having an elongated body and a bolt head at a first end, and an exposed bolt face with a primer recess cavity having a base with a forward-facing surface, the base having an aperture therein, where the aperture is circumscribed by the forward-facing surface for receiving a propellant charge having an extended primer cap, and a firing pin within the bolt and movable between a disengaged position wherein a firing pin head is receded within the aperture and an engaged position wherein the firing pin head extends beyond the forward-facing surface into the primer recess cavity.

METALLIC, NON-LEADED PROJECTILE FOR MUZZLE-LOADING FIREARMS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
20230152071 · 2023-05-18 ·

A projectile for muzzle-loading firearms is made completely from a non-lead metal or alloy. It includes a pair of grooves to incorporate O-rings around a circular cylinder. A threaded well may be bored into the forward facing of the cylinder to facilitate insertion and/or removal of the projectile from the barrel via a cooperating ramrod. The projectile is then wrapped in a cloth patch to cover the sidewalls and bottom facing of the cylinder. A method of forming a plurality of the projectiles from standardized bar stock is also contemplated.

MUZZLELOADER SYSTEMS

Muzzleloader systems include a pre-packaged propellant charge and primer for providing efficient loading and unloading of the muzzleloader. The muzzleloader accepts in the breech end the propellant containment vessel that abuts against a constriction portion with a reduced diameter portion. The propellant containment vessel having an end portion with a tapered surface that conforms to the constriction portion surface. A projectile is inserted in the muzzle end and seats against the constriction portion. The propellant containment vessel may be received in a removable breech plug. The constriction portion may be part of the breech plug or a separate component secured in the barrel by way of the breech plug. The containment vessel further comprises a primer mechanism that may be integrated into the proximal end of the containment vessel.

Muzzleloader power cell with primer

Muzzleloader systems including a pre-packaged propellant charge with a primer and receptacle. The muzzleloader system may include a propellant containment vessel separate from the primer and the projectile and that doesn't contact with the projectile until assembly. The muzzleloader may be rear loading, with a constriction portion forward of the breech chamber. The propellant containment vessel may include a body portion having a forward opening, with a propellant charge disposed therein and a cap portion that is crimp rolled within the mouth of the vessel to seal the forward opening. The closed end of the propellant containment vessel may define a primer receptacle configured to receive the primer. The receptacle may define a depth that is less than the primer height so that, when inserted into the receptacle, the primer extends rearwardly beyond the containment vessel. The muzzleloader system may be configured to fire only specifically configured propellant containment vessels.
