TARGET CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
20220392098 · 2022-12-08 ·

One example provides a target classification system comprising a display subsystem configured to display an image captured by a camera of an in-field device. The image includes one or more targets. The target classification system is configured to receive a user input indicating a location of the one or more targets in a screen space coordinate system of the display subsystem. Location information in a world space coordinate system is determined by receiving a pose of the camera; using the pose of the camera and the location in the screen space to trace a ray; and using at least a position of the camera and an orientation of the ray to generate coordinates in the world space. Target classification information is determined, and targeting data is output comprising the coordinates in the world space and the target classification information.

Examples are disclosed that relate to target classification systems, weapons, and methods for classifying a target. One example provides a target classification system comprising a user device, a user input device, a pose sensor fixed to the user device, a processor, and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor. A visual alignment aid indicates a line of sight to one or more of a plurality of targets. The user input device is configured to receive at least a first input type and a second input type. The instructions are executable to receive a user input and determine the pose of the line of sight. The one or more targets are tagged with a first target classification when the first input type is received and tagged with a second target classification when the second input type is received. The instructions are further executable to output targeting data to another device.

Boresighting device and method

A boresighting device to equip a turret provided with a barrel and one or several sight system(s) each with an optical system includes: a deflection target intended to be positioned outside the barrel, at a muzzle brake of the barrel; a housing intended to be positioned outside the barrel, at a shaft of the barrel. The housing includes: a first optics system provided with a deflection camera, the first optics system being used to determine a parallelism error between a firing line from the shaft and that from the muzzle brake; and a second optics system provided with a boresighting camera, the second optics system being used to determine a parallelism error between the firing line from the shaft and an optics line from the sight system(s). The deflection target integrates a geometric figure serving as a reference point for the first optics system.

Digital boresighting laser range finder to imaging device

A method of digitally boresighting includes finding a laser spot in a field of view of an imaging device that has an optical center, wherein the laser spot is generated by a laser, determining an offset vector between the laser spot in the field of view and the optical center, and correcting for boresight misalignment of the laser and imaging device in the image on a display using the offset vector.

Boresighting peripherals to digital weapon sights

A digital sight for a weapon includes a sight body, a mount for a peripheral fixed to the sight body, and a controller. The controller is disposed in communication with a non-volatile memory and is responsive to instructions recorded to boresight a peripheral relative to the digital weapon sight. Weapon assemblies and methods of boresighting peripherals to digital weapon sights are also described.

OPERATING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REMOTE CONTROL OF ARMING DEVICE

An operating device and method for remotely controlling an arming device. The method includes confirming a tracking image at each firing time point of a laser beam transmitted by the range finder; based on an image correlation value of a target locked on by a tracking gate in the tracking image exceeding a threshold value, determining that the target is normally locked on; determining whether the laser beam from the range finder hits the target determined as being normally locked on based on a center value of the tracking image and a center value of the tracking gate; and based on the laser beam from the range finder hitting the target normally locked on, determining a range measurement value measured by the range finder as a true value of the target and determining other range measurement values as wrong measurement values.

ALIGNMENT MECHANISM

An alignment mechanism uses two adjustment plates. A first adjustment plate is pivotal about a first adjustment axis and a second adjustment plate is rotatable about a second adjustment axis. The first and second adjustment axes are perpendicular to one another. The first plate has a front portion through which the first adjustment axis passes and a rear portion having a first alignment surface and a tension spring secured to the rear portion opposite the first alignment surface. The second adjustment plate has a front portion and a rear portion having a second alignment surface and a tension spring secured between the second alignment surface and the rear portion of the first adjustment plate.

DATA COMMUNICATION BETWEEN IMAGE SENSORS AND IMAGE DISPLAYS

An imaging method includes determining heading of a digital weapon sight, determining heading of a helmet mounted display, and calculating difference between the heading of the digital weapon sight and the heading of the helmet mounted display. When the difference between the heading of the digital weapon sight and the heading of the helmet mounted display is outside of a predetermined range image data communication between the digital weapon sight and the helmet mounted display is disabled. Imaging systems and weapons assemblies having imaging systems are also described.
