A lightweight, interlocking, freestanding, reconfigurable, all-weather wall system for use in law enforcement, emergency services, and military training. The wall system may comprise a plurality of wall panels and a plurality of panel interlocking connectors capable of temporarily connecting two or more wall panels. The modular wall system may be capable of being assembled and disassembled without the use of tools.

The present anti-ballistic shelter is a reinforced unit configured to comply with both ISO standards for size and weight, and with the U.S. Department of State Certification Standard for Forced Entry and Ballistic Resistance of Structural Systems. Each end and side wall of the unit is reinforced with wall studs that penetrate the unit's structural framework. Even though these wail studs are welded into place, penetration of the wall studs into the framework ensures acceptable blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistance even if the welds are flawed.

The modular anti-ballistic shelter system includes two end units and, optionally, additional middle units for a wider structure. End and middle units may also stack atop each other for multi-story structures. A method of using an anti-ballistic protection system for protecting an interior space in a building. The ballistic barrier includes a laminated material having a plurality of layers of lightweight, flexible, ballistic resistant material such as woven sheets which are secured together into the laminate using a adhesive, heat weld, or stitching. The ballistic barrier is configured to be in a compact retracted state which can be deployed to provide a protective state to protect against kinetic ballistic projectiles. The system may include an automated control system operably configured to change the state of the ballistic barrier from the retracted state to the protective deployed state, such that upon sensing a threatening event or condition triggers a transition from the retracted state to the deployed protective state such that in the protective state. The ballistic barrier in the deployed state is configured to be resistant to penetration by high-speed ballistic projectiles such as a bullet fired from a gun or a shrapnel from a bomb to protect the interior space.

The panel may include a ballistic resistant layer and an outer layer secured to a least one side of the ballistic resistant layer. The ballistic resistant layer may include one or more panels of ballistic resistant material. The outer layer may be decorative or functional layer.

A ballistic-resistant barrier assembly including an elongated barrier having a vertical portion including a substantially horizontal elongated top edge, and a ballistic-resistant device having a first ballistic-resistant panel including an elongated top edge, and an engagement portion affixed to the elongated top edge of the first ballistic-resistant panel, wherein the engagement portion of the ballistic-resistant device is disposed adjacent the elongated top edge of the barrier so that the first ballistic-resistant panel is disposed in a vertical orientation adjacent the vertical portion of the barrier.

A ballistic-resistant barrier assembly including an elongated barrier having a vertical portion including a substantially horizontal elongated top edge, and a ballistic-resistant device having a first ballistic-resistant panel including an elongated top edge, and an engagement portion affixed to the elongated top edge of the first ballistic-resistant panel, wherein the engagement portion of the ballistic-resistant device is disposed adjacent the elongated top edge of the barrier so that the first ballistic-resistant panel is disposed in a vertical orientation adjacent the vertical portion of the barrier.

A bullet resistant wall system including ballistic paver blocks constructed, configured, and arranged to form a wall having at least two adjacent individual layers. The at least two adjacent individual layers include multiple adjacent rows of the ballistic paver blocks. The ballistic paver blocks are formed from wet ballistic concrete prepared without an addition of a preformed foam or wet ballistic concrete prepared without an addition of a stabilizing agent.
