An automatic analyzer includes a tube pump, a mounting unit that mounts the liquid delivery target container, a drive mechanism, a liquid surface detecting unit, and a control unit. The tube pump delivers the liquid to the liquid delivery target container during design liquid delivery time necessary to deliver the liquid in a design liquid delivery amount before the tube pump is degraded. The drive mechanism moves the mounting unit mounting the liquid delivery target container from a first position to a second position at which the liquid surface is to be detected by the liquid surface detecting unit. The control unit computes an actual liquid delivery amount of the liquid for the design liquid delivery time based on the first and the second positions, and the control unit determines a degradation state of the tube pump based on the design liquid delivery amount and the actual liquid delivery amount.

A System and Apparatus for Fluid Sample Delivery

Systems and methods for analysing a fluid including a fluid sample delivery application. The system includes a sensing element configured to respond to at least one analyte in a sample of fluid. A detector is provided, configured to sense the response to the analyte by the sensing element. The fluid sample delivery apparatus includes a dosage needle configured to deliver the sample of fluid to the sensing element, at least one pump configured to control flow of fluid through the dosage needle, and at least one actuator configured to move the dosage needle relative to the sensing element. At least one controller is provided, configured to control the at least one pump and the at least one actuator.

The field of the invention relates generally to filling containers with liquid. More specifically, the invention relates to the real-time assessment of the volume filled into containers, particularly in the manufacture of medicaments such as pharmaceuticals. The invention finds specific use in the final stage of drug manufacturing known as fill/finish wherein the drug substance or active pharmaceutical intermediate is prepared as a final drug product in a formulation suitable for administration to patients in need of the same, which is then provided to patients. More particularly, the invention relates to controlling the volume in container via in-line non-destructive monitoring of the fill process.

A dispensing device for dispensing material. The dispensing device comprises a dispensing head; a capsule magazine including at least one void; at least one material capsule, wherein the at least one material capsule is disposed within the at least one void in the material capsule magazine; a motor, operable to provide mechanical power for material dispensing operations, wherein the motor is disposed within the dispensing head; and a gear mechanically connected to the motor, wherein the gear is further disposed in connection with the at least one material capsule, such that operation of the motor causes rotation of the gear and, in turn rotation of the at least one material capsule.

Dosing a fluid at a volume of less than one milliliter

A peristaltic dosing device for providing dosages of a fluid at a volume of less than one milliliter comprises: a flexible tube, a counter pressure element, a plurality of actors and a drive. The flexible tube is essentially straightly arranged along the counter pressure element thereby forming a longitudinal axis. The actors arranged parallel to each other along the longitudinal axis. They are moveable by the drive in relation to the flexible tube. The flexible tube is compressible between the actors and the counter pressure element by moving the actors. Each of the actors is independently and linearly moveable by the drive along an actuation axis essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the flexible tube from a home position in which the flexible tube is least compressed to an end position in which the flexible tube is compressed and sealed between the respective actor and the counter pressure element. The peristaltic dosing device according to the invention allows for exactly and repeatably providing dosages at comparably small volumes in a sterile environment.

Apparatus for dispensing a flowable product

An apparatus (10) is provided for dispensing a flowable product from a collapsible container (12) comprising an air-tight cavity (14) and an opening (16). The apparatus (10) includes a reservoir (18) comprising a chamber (20) for storing flowable product, the chamber (20) comprising a product inlet (22) for receiving flowable product delivered from the air-tight cavity (14) of a connected collapsible container (12) through the opening (16) thereof, and a product outlet (24) for the flowable product. The current invention discloses a fluid dispenser especially suitable for ophthalmic treatments and delivering of ophthalmic agents such as eye drops. The fluid dispenser incorporates a tube made from compliant materials as the key dosing component. A first point and a second point on the tube may be acted upon by folding the tube or by external elements, making the segment between the first point and the second point a squeezing section that houses a dosing chamber. The squeezing section may be pressed by an anvil or other structures, pressurizing the fluid contained in the dosing chamber so that once the tube is released on one point, the fluid in the dosing chamber is discharged. With each dosing process, a single dose of the fluid is discharged. In addition, the fluid dispenser is capable of delivering a series of doses of the fluid by repeating the dosing process.
