FLOW METER WITH ADAPTABLE BEAM CHARACTERISTICS
An embodiment provides a device for measuring a fluid parameter of fluid flow in a channel, including: a transmitter; at least one receiver; a processor operatively coupled to the at least one transmitter and the at least one receiver; a memory device that stores instructions executable by the processor to: transmit, using the transmitter, directed energy carrying a signal toward a surface of a fluid in a fluid channel, so as to produce one or more reflections from the fluid surface; detect, by the at least one receiver, one or more received signals associated with the one or more reflections so produced; determine, based upon a measurement beam comprising characteristics of the transmitted and received signals, one or more fluid parameters to be measured using a processor of the device; and associate, using a processor of the device, the one or more fluid parameters with a channel segment. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

CONTROL DEVICE FOR A METER DEVICE, PARTICULARLY A WATER METER DEVICE, AND METER DEVICE, PARTICULARLY A WATER METER DEVICE
A control device for a meter device, particularly a water meter device, includes a first data interface for a meter unit measuring a flow of a fluid of the meter device, a second data interface for a reading device communicating with the meter unit through the control device, and a supply interface receiving a combined clock and voltage supply signal for the control device. The control device can assume a read mode in which data at the first data interface can be transmitted by the control device to the second data interface upon receiving a clock and voltage supply signal having a read signal variation. The control device can additionally assume a write mode in which data at the second data interface can be transmitted to the first data interface upon receiving a clock and voltage supply signal with a write signal variation different from the read signal variation.
System and method for correcting meter sizing
A system, method, and computer program product for identifying an incorrectly sized utility meter having a measuring system for fluid passing through the utility meter, including monitoring a plurality of utility meters, each utility meter being installed at a utility location, receiving utility meter data, transmitted by at least one utility meter of the plurality of utility meters to a central computer including at least one processor, wherein the utility meter data comprises a measurement of a volumetric amount of fluid passing through the utility meter or other utility meter data for deriving the volumetric amount of fluid passing through the utility meter, identifying the incorrectly sized utility meter by detecting whether a flow rate associated with the volumetric amount of fluid passed through the utility meter is outside of a flow rate range; and providing an interactive interface to report/receive a status associated with the incorrectly sized utility meter.
Method for registering and locating water resources
A method of registering and locating a water resource includes incentivizing an owner for registering the water resource and associating owner contact information and coordinate location data of the water resource to the water resource. An online database stores the coordinate location data of the water resource, the owner of the water resource, and the owner contact information received from the first electronic device. A second electronic device displays on an electronic map the coordinate location data of the water resource within an area of the electronic map. The user of the second electronic device is informed, after selection of the water resource, the name of the owner of the water resource, the owner contact information of the water resource, the coordinate location data of the water resource, and an account of the owner is credited if the water resource is used.
Appliance based tariff
An electronic sensing and allocation system is provided for a distributed water infrastructure containing a plurality of differing appliances. The system may receive, from at least one sensor upstream of the plurality of differing appliances, a plurality of signals indicative of water usage within the distributed water infrastructure. The system may output a first indication of a first volume of water together with an indicator attributing the first volume of water to a first rate schedule, and output a second indication of a second volume of water together with an indicator attributing the second volume of water to a second rate schedule. The system may enable billing of the first and second volumes of water to a consumer at differing rates based on differing uses.
System and method for preventing false flow measurements in a vibrating meter
A meter electronics (20) for a vibrating meter (5) is provided. The vibrating meter (5) includes a sensor assembly located within a pipeline (301). The sensor assembly (10) is in fluid communication with one or more fluid switches (309). The meter electronics (20) is configured to measure one or more flow characteristics of a fluid flowing through the sensor assembly (10). The meter electronics (20) is further configured to receive a first fluid switch signal (214) indicating a fluid condition within the pipeline (301) from a first fluid switch (309) of the one or more fluid switches. The meter electronics (20) is further configured to correct the one or more flow characteristics if the fluid condition is outside a threshold value or band.
Configuration tool and method for a quality control system
A configuration tool adapted to configure a quality control system to monitor and/or guide an operator in a working environment through recognition of objects, events or an operational process, comprises: a volumetric sensor adapted to capture volumetric image frames of the working environment while an object, event or operational process is demonstrated; a display, coupled to the volumetric sensor and configured to live display the volumetric image frames; and a processor configured to: generate a user interface in overlay of the volumetric image frames to enable a user to define a layout zone; and automatically generate a virtual box in the layout zone when an object, event or operational process is detected during demonstration of the object, event or operational process.

A compact faucet attachment with an adjustable aerator that monitors water usage and encourages positive water-saving behaviors. The attachment replaces an existing faucet aerator and allows users to change the pressure and pattern of the water flowing through their faucet. It has a thread adapter to ensure that it fits most common faucets. Additionally, on a display screen, numerical data and icons show users statistics regarding how much water they use compared to a daily recommended amount. The device's battery is rechargeable.
