METHOD, DEVICE, AND DISPLAY DEVICE FOR DETECTING AMBIENT LIGHT
A method, device, and display device for detecting ambient light are provided. The method includes obtaining brightness information of the ambient light, determining a brightness interval of the ambient light according to the brightness information of the ambient light and preset correspondences between a plurality of ambient light sensors and different brightness intervals, using the ambient light sensor corresponding to the brightness interval of the ambient light as a reference sensor, and outputting a brightness signal of a current ambient light according to output signals of the ambient light sensors and a preset conversion formula.
IMPROVEMENTS IN SPAD-BASED PHOTODETECTORS
An integrated photodetecting optoelectronic semiconductor component configured to deliver an output signal indicative of the intensity of light irradiating the component. The component may include a SPAD-based main detection device configured to detect incoming photons and to deliver an output signal based on the detected photons. The component may also include a SPAD-based reference detection device proximate to the main detection device where the reference detection device has the same electro-optical behaviour as the main detection device, is configured to detect incoming photons, configured to deliver a reference signal based on the detected photons, and has a light inlet for incoming photons. The component may also include a neutral density filtering device and a controller configured to determine a nominal output signal, compare the nominal output signal with the output signal delivered by the main detection device, and adjust an operating parameter based on the comparison.
Ambient light detector, detector array and method
An ambient light detector, a detector array and a method are disclosed. An ambient light sensor includes a first plurality of sensor elements, where each sensor element is configured to provide a signal in response to a level of illumination and a second plurality of reference elements, each reference element configured to provide a reference signal and each including a blocking element configured to shield the respective reference element from being illuminated, where the first plurality is larger than the second plurality and the first plurality of sensor elements and the second plurality of reference elements are arranged in an array, and where a sensor element and a reference element are laterally arranged on or in a common layer substrate sharing at least one common first contact.
Daylight sensor for automated window shading
A daylight sensor for automated window-shading applications that incorporates at least one (and optionally more than one) of three aspects: an optimized Field-of-View (FOV), angle-diversity sensing (via at least two sub-sensors with different FOVs, whose outputs are processed in a particular way to yield the overall sensor output), and multi-spectral sensing (via at least two sub-sensors with differing spectral responses and, optionally, different FOVs, whose outputs are processed in a particular way to yield the sensor output). These aspects improve the correlation between the sensor output and the subjectively-perceived daylight level (especially under glare-inducing conditions, such as in the presence of low-angle direct sunlight), thereby enabling more effective automatic control of daylight admitted into a room.
Ambient light detector, detector array and method
An ambient light detector, a detector array and a method are disclosed. In an embodiment an ambient light sensor includes a first plurality of sensor elements, each sensor element configured to provide a signal in response to a level of illumination and a second plurality of reference elements, each reference element configured to provide a reference signal and each including a blocking element configured to shield the respective reference element from being illuminated, wherein the first plurality is larger than the second plurality and the first plurality of sensor elements and the second plurality of reference elements are arranged in an array, and wherein a sensor element and a reference element are laterally arranged on or in a common layer substrate sharing at least one common first contact.

Position detector sensor
In a first pixel part, as an incident position is closer to a first end of a first pixel pair group in a second direction, an intensity of a first electric signal decreases. In a second pixel part, as the incident position is closer to the first end, an intensity of a second electric signal increases. In a third pixel part, as the incident position is closer to a second end of a second pixel pair group in a first direction, an intensity of a third electric signal decreases. In a fourth pixel part, as the incident position is closer to the second end, an intensity of a fourth electric signal increases. A calculation unit performs weighting on a first position on the basis of the third and fourth electric signals, and performs weighting on a second position on the basis of the first and second electric signals.
