METHOD FOR COMPENSATION DURING THE PROCESS OF WAVEFRONT RECONSTRUCTION IN GRATING-BASED LATERAL SHEARING INTERFEROMETRY
Method for simultaneously compensating pupil coordinate distortion and shear amount change in a process of wavefront reconstruction in grating transverse shear interference. Where a wavefront is diffracted by a grating, the shapes and light paths of the diffracted wavefronts of all the orders are different, so that on one hand, a coordinate system detected by a detector plane is distorted relative to a pupil coordinate system, and on the other hand, a shear amount changes along with a coordinate position.
LIGHT INTERFERENCE GENERATOR AND INTERFERENCE IMAGING DEVICE
An interference imaging device includes a light interference generator that includes: a light wave splitter configured to reflect a part of incident light and to allow a remaining part of the incident light to pass through; a phase modulator configured to modulate a phase of incident light that has passed through the light wave splitter; and a reflector configured to reflect the phase-modulated incident light from the phase modulator so that the reflected, phase-modulated incident light overlaps with incident light that has been reflected by the light wave splitter.
WAVEFRONT SENSOR AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING DIFFERENCES IN PISTON AND TILT EXISTING BETWEEN SEVERAL LIGHT BEAMS
A wavefront analyser is modified to simply determine the differences in amplitude and tilt which can exist between the different regions of an initial wavefront (S0). To achieve this, interference between two waves only is produced from beams (F1, F2) which come from neighbouring regions on the initial wavefront. Such an analyser can be used to coherently combine laser radiation produced by different sources arranged in parallel. Another use is for the determination of the differences in height and inclination which exist between the neighbouring mirror segments of a Keck telescope.
COLLIMATION EVALUATION DEVICE AND COLLIMATION EVALUATION METHOD
A first reflection member, when light is incident, reflects a part of the light by a first reflection surface, reflects light transmitted through the first reflection surface by a second reflection surface, and emits reflected light components in an opposite direction. The second reflection member, when light emitted from the first reflection member is incident, reflects a part of the light by a first reflection surface, reflects light transmitted through the first reflection surface by a second reflection surface, and emits reflected light components. Interference fringes are formed on a screen by light reflected on the first reflection surface of the first reflection member and the second reflection surface of the second reflection member and light reflected on the second reflection surface of the first reflection member and the first reflection surface of the second reflection member.
Measurement technique for refractive index inhomogeneity between plates of a lightguide optical element (LOE)
A system and method for measuring refractive index inhomogeneity between plates of a Lightguide Optical Element (LOE) uses an innovative measuring technique based on a shearing interferometric technique conventionally used to observe interference and test the collimation of light beams. Another feature of the current implementation is an innovative method for analyzing the characteristics of the generated interferogram to characterize discrepancies between adjacent plates in an LOE.

The present invention is directed to the provision of an interferometer and a phase shift amount measuring apparatus that can precisely operate in the EUV region. The interferometer according to the invention comprises an illumination source for generating an illumination beam, an illumination system for projecting the illumination beam emitted from the illumination source onto a sample, and an imaging system for directing the reflected beam by the sample onto a detector. The illumination system includes a first diffraction grating for producing a first and second diffraction beams which respectively illuminate two areas on the sample where are shifted from each other by a given distance, and the imaging system includes a second grating for diffracting the first and second diffraction beams reflected by the sample to produce a third and fourth diffraction beams which are shifted from each other by a given distance.
Method and apparatus for performing optical imaging using frequency-domain interferometry
Exemplary apparatus and method are provided. In particular, an electromagnetic radiation can be emitted with, e.g. a light source arrangement. For example, the light source arrangement can include a cavity and a filter, and a spectrum of the electromagnetic radiation can be controlled, e.g., with such cavity and filter, to have a mean frequency that changes (i) at an absolute rate that is greater than about 100 terahertz per millisecond, and (ii) over a range that is greater than about 10 terahertz. Additionally or alternatively, the light source arrangement can include a frequency shifting device which can shift the mean frequency of the electromagnetic radiation.
