PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SAFETY VALVES
20220107031 · 2022-04-07 ·

A pressure and temperature valve comprising a pressure relief valve (100) and a temperature probe (200). The pressure relief valve comprises a valve seat (14) and a valve member (20) arranged to rest in contact with the valve seat to close the valve and to be lifted off the valve seat to open the valve. The temperature probe (200) comprises a housing (52), a volume of expansion material (62) within the housing, a piston (64) slidable within the housing and arranged to be moved in a first direction by expansion of the expansion material, and in a second direction opposite to the first direction on contraction of the expansion material. A lift rod (90) is arranged to be moved by movement of the piston (64) in the first direction thereby to move the valve member (20) to open the valve.

Monitoring device

An air cylinder includes a tubular cylinder and a piston which is moved by pressure of a fluid supplied to a chamber provided inside the cylinder. A monitoring device includes a heat flux sensor and a detection part. The heat flux sensor is provided to the cylinder and detects heat flux that flows between inside and outside of the cylinder due to compression or expansion of the fluid in the chamber caused in accordance with the movement of the piston. The detection part detects the moving state of the piston based on the output signal of the heat flux sensor.

A quick connect fluid connector that is detachably connectable to a fluid system to process a gas into or from the fluid system through the quick connect fluid connector. The quick connect fluid connector includes one or more temperature sensors that can sense the temperature of the gas within the fluid connector during processing. Based on the sensed temperature(s), an alert can be generated to alert a human operator conducting the processing and/or automatically shut-off the processing if the sensed temperature becomes too high. The operator will therefore be alerted if the cylinders are being processed too quickly or if the processing duration could be shortened.

A fluid temperature sensor may include a housing having an inlet, an indicator coupled to the housing, and a container disposed within the housing. The container may include a thermo-sensitive housing containing a thermal sensing element. The thermal sensing element may be configured to expand in response to reaching a threshold temperature thereby moving the container from a closed position to an open position. Fluid may flow through the inlet and fill the housing in the open position of the container to actuate the indicator into an activated position.
