Sand separation control system and method
A sand separation system and method for operating a sand separation system, in which the method includes separating sand from a fluid using a separator. The method includes, signaling for a blowdown unit to blowdown the separator, opening one or more blowdown valves of the blowdown unit coupled to the separator in response to the signaling, so as to blowdown the separator, and receiving the sand from the separator into a sand disposal unit. The sand passes through the one or more blowdown valves that are opened. The method includes measuring a weight of at least some of the sand that was separated in the separator using a load cell of the separator, a load cell of the sand disposal unit, or both, and determining a blowdown interval for subsequent blowdown operations of the separator based in part on the weight of the sand.
REMOTE WATER SUPPLY AND TESTING DEVICE
A portable apparatus that can be temporarily attached to plumbing angle stop valves and the like, for the purposes of: (i) providing a controlled supply of water for repair and construction operations in a building; and (ii) testing for leaks in plumbing systems. This invention consists of the following components as depicted in
Fuel, communications, and power connection systems and related methods
Embodiments of system and methods for supplying fuel, enabling communications, and conveying electric power associated with operation of a hydraulic fracturing unit of a plurality of hydraulic fracturing units are disclosed and may include a fuel line connection assembly configured to be connected to the first hydraulic fracturing unit and to supply fuel from a fuel source to a gas turbine engine connected to the hydraulic fracturing unit. A system also may include a communications cable assembly configured to be connected to the hydraulic fracturing unit and to enable data communications between the hydraulic fracturing unit and a data center or another hydraulic fracturing unit. A system further may include a power cable assembly configured to be connected to the hydraulic fracturing unit and to convey electric power between the hydraulic fracturing unit and a remote electrical power source or the plurality of hydraulic fracturing units.
A METHOD OF INHIBITING LEAKAGE OF A FLUID THROUGH A DEFECT IN A WALL OF A PIPE
A method of inhibiting leakage of a fluid through a defect (4) in a wall of a pipe (2), comprising the steps: introducing a loss control medium (30) into a first portion of a pipe (2); conveying the loss control medium (30) along the pipe from the first portion to a second portion of the pipe, wherein the second portion is embedded in a porous medium and has a defect (4) through which fluid conveyed by the pipe during normal use leaks into the porous medium; and applying a pressure to the loss control medium (30) such that at least a portion of the loss control medium (30) is expelled from the pipe through the defect (4) into the porous medium thereby causing the loss control medium to accumulate within the porous medium in the vicinity of the defect which inhibits flow of a liquid through the defect into the porous medium.
Ache tube leak testing tool
A test apparatus and method for use, in situ, to identify leaks in individual tubes in an air-cooled heat exchanger includes a pressurizing component and a pressure retaining component that are secured in the opposite ends of an individual tube by engagement of a lock member in the threaded opening in the respective adjacent headers from which the access port covers have been removed. A pressurized test liquid, e.g., water, is admitted via the test apparatus pressurizing component to fill the tube by initially venting and then closing a drain valve on the pressure retaining component and controllably increasing the hydrostatic pressure on the tube to a predetermined value and monitoring a gauge in the pressurizing component for any loss of the final test pressure, thereby confirming a leak, after which the tube is drained and sealed to remove it from service.
Flow Detection Device
A flow detector for detecting flow rates of fluid in pipes by measuring the temperature of the pipe and the ambient temperature and determining from the signals whether there is a flow in the pipe,by the shape of the temperature signals without providing any heat input to the pipe or fluid.
Water leak detection using pressure sensing
A system including a sensing device configured to (i) measure pressure of water in cold and hot water lines proximate to a fixture of a water system of a structure, and (ii) generate pressure measurement data representing the pressure of the water. The system also includes one or more processors. The system additionally includes one or more non-transitory computer readable media storing machine-executable instructions configured, when executed on the one or more processors, to perform detecting a non-cyclical pressure event corresponding to a water leak in the water system of the structure during a first time period based on an analysis of information comprising the pressure measurement data. Other embodiments are described.
Sand separation control system and method
An automated sand separator discharge system includes a sand separator disposed downstream of a wellhead, an inlet conduit for transporting a process stream to the sand separator, a fluid outlet conduit for transporting a liquid and gas stream from the sand separator, a sand discharge conduit for removing sand from the sand separator, first, second, and third valves disposed along the sand discharge conduit, a first transducer connected between the first and second valves and operative to measure pressure in a portion of the sand discharge conduit and to produce a pressure reading, and a control panel operatively connected to the first, second, and third valves and the first transducer, the control panel being programmed to initiate and terminate discharge of sand from the sand separator, and to determine if the first and second valves are sealing completely when closed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CALIBRATING AND TUNING A MASS FLOW CONTROLLER
A mass flow control apparatus and methods for calibrating and tuning the mass flow apparatus are provided. The mass flow apparatus can be calibrated by receiving a calibration input signal that provides one or more properties of a gas that is flowing through a main fluid flow path and performing one or more measurements, using one or more sensors, on the gas. The calibration includes determining a calibration parameter based on the results of the one or more measurements and the calibration input signal and adjusting a proportional valve, based on the calibration parameter, to adjust a flow rate, of the gas through the apparatus, to match a setpoint flow rate.
