Various air-quality parameters such as, for example, particulate matter, SO2, NO2, CO, O3, H2S, CO2, HCL, NH3, CH4, VOC etc. can be measured.
SENSORS WITH DEHUMIDIFIERS
A sensor system for detecting at least one analyte in an environment includes a dehumidifier system including at least one of a condenser unit and a desiccant unit and a sensor responsive to the analyte in fluid connection with the dehumidifier system.
Field sampling system and method of using
A sampling device comprising a filter to remove particulates greater than about 10 microns, a dryer active to remove water vapor present in the air sample, a chemical scrubber active to remove contaminants from the air sample, a cold trap to capture analytes which is configurable to be put into fluid communication with a spectroscopic analyzer. A method of obtaining and analyzing a sample utilizing the device is also disclosed.
Hi-fidelity bioaerosol condensation capture directly into genomic preservatives
This invention relates generally to characterizing bioaerosols and, more particularly, to a system for recovering, quantifying, identifying, and assessing the metabolic activities of bioaerosols based on their major biopolymer profiles (lipids, carbohydrate and protein) and more specific their genetic materials (DNA/RNA), such as airborne viruses, bacteria, fungi and pollens.
System and method for detecting airborne pathogens
An air sampling system is disclosed. The air sampling system includes: an air inflow channel having an air inlet portion at a top end, the air inflow channel being oriented substantially vertically; a fan configured to cause air in a sampling environment to flow into the air inflow channel via the inlet portion; a cooling unit for cooling air in the air inflow channel, the cooling unit disposed downstream of the inlet portion; a collection chamber for collecting liquid water condensed from air in the air inflow channel, the collection chamber being fluidly connected to the air inflow channel; and a sensing unit for determining a volume of liquid in the collection chamber, wherein the cooling unit is controlled in response to signals generated by the sensing unit.
APPARATUS FOR ON-LINE TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT AND GAS SAMPLING USED IN CHUTE ZONE OF DRY QUENCHING COKE OVEN AND USING METHOD THEREOF
An apparatus for on-line temperature measurement and gas sampling used in the chute area of CDQ coke oven. The oven external unit includes a temperature indicator, a gas tube, a vacuum tank, and the oven internal unit includes a temperature measuring element, a temperature indicator. The temperature measuring element pass through the oven shell and oven along the oven radical, is located in the upper channel of the high-temperature ceramic tube with double-channel, one end of the high-temperature ceramic tube with double-channel is connected with the gas tube of the vacuum tank. The apparatus solves the problem that hard to measure the temperature and sample the gas of the part where the environment is the most complicated in CDQ coke oven, and has the advantages that the structure is simple, operation is easy to handle and can achieve real-time monitoring for the inner environment of the CDQ coke oven.
Systems and methods for removing contaminates from a stream prior to passing the stream through an analyzer
A separator comprising: a first and second chamber, wherein the chambers are generally vertically disposed and parallel to each other; and the chambers have an upper end and a lower end; and the separator comprises an upper body and a lower body, wherein the upper ends are disposed in communication with the upper body, and the lower ends are disposed in communication with the lower body. Further disclosed is a single-chamber separator including a cooler. The cooler surrounds a portion of the chamber, and includes a coolant inlet disposed on a bottom surface, and a coolant outlet disposed on a top surface, and further includes baffles for directing coolant flow in a back and forth manner inside of the cooler. Also disclosed is a dual-chamber separator including a plurality of filters. The filters are disposed in the chambers in surrounding relationship to the tubes.
Aerosol Collection System and Method
The present invention relates to systems and methods for collecting and analyzing bioaerosols, including exhaled breath aerosol from a subject. The collection system comprises an inlet portion configured to receive a gaseous fluid containing water vapor and aerosol particles. A primary passage for gaseous fluid flow is in fluid communication with the inlet portion and configured to channel the gaseous fluid flow therethrough. An outlet portion is in fluid communication with the primary passage. A sample collection region is provided, which is configured to receive from the outlet portion aerosol particles from the gaseous fluid, wherein the aerosol particles are impacted onto a layer of ice.
Cryofocused sampling of volatiles from air using peltier-assisted capillary microextraction
A CMV sampling device includes a thermoelectric cooler, a vacuum pump, and one or more holders for one or more capillary microextractor of volatiles (CMV) tubes. The holder thermally contacts the thermoelectric cooler and the vacuum pump is fluidly connected to the CMV tube. The CMV device is useful for sampling of volatile organic compounds from air. The sampling can be carried out rapidly to achieve a sample within the CMV tube that may be placed into a thermal desorption unit (TDU) coupled to an inlet port for introduction of the volatiles into an analytical instrument, such as, a gas chromatograph (GC), an ion mobility spectrometer (IMS), a liquid chromatograph (LC), and/or a mass spectrometer (MS) for analysis of one or more volatiles.
