MICROBIAL ANALYSIS WITHOUT CELL PURIFICATION
The invention provides systems and methods for rapid automated identification of microbes and antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) directly from a patient specimen, without specimen preparation. Specimens are loaded into an analytical cartridge for processing. Analytical cartridges are preloaded with species-specific labels that are used to identify and enumerate microbes in the specimen. Instruments, such as analyzers can be used to interact with analytical cartridges to carry out methods of the invention all within the cartridge.
POINT-OF-CARE TESTING (POCT) FULLY-AUTOMATIC CHEMILUMINESCENCE DEVICE BASED ON MULTI-CHANNEL PARALLEL PRETREATMENT TECHNOLOGY
A point-of-care testing (POCT) fully-automatic chemiluminescence device based on a multi-channel parallel pretreatment technology includes a support. The support is provided thereon with a reaction chamber assembly, which reciprocates linearly relative to the support. A multi-channel parallel pretreatment assembly and a photomultiplier tube (PMT) assembly are arranged on the support and are located above the reaction chamber assembly. The multi-channel parallel pretreatment assembly is configured to transfer, clean, and separate reagents in reagent strips in the reaction chamber assembly. The PMT assembly is configured to detect a luminescence value of the cleaned and separated reagents. The device does not have a liquid passage, resulting in low maintenance costs and high reliability. This realizes automatic sample addition, supports whole blood testing, and avoids carry-over. The device solves the problems in the traditional POCT chemiluminescence device of manual sample addition, cumbersome steps, and human errors which are easily made.

The technology described herein generally relates to systems for extracting polynucleotides from multiple samples, particularly from biological samples, and additionally to systems that subsequently amplify and detect the extracted polynucleotides. The technology more particularly relates to microfluidic systems that carry out PCR on multiple samples of nucleotides of interest within microfluidic channels, and detect those nucleotides. The technology still more particularly relates to automated devices for carrying out pipetting operations, particularly on samples in parallel, consistent with sample preparation and delivery of PCR-ready nucleotide extracts to a cartridge wherein PCR is run.

The apparatus of the present invention comprises a base frame 104; a cuvette tray 110 movable back and forth on the base frame 104, for mounting cuvette holders 10 accommodating a plurality of cuvettes arranged thereon alongside each other; a tube tray 120 movable back and forth on the base frame, for mounting tube holders 20 accommodating a plurality of sample tubes containing samples thereon; and a sampling operation unit 500 movable left and right on the base frame 104, for mixing a sample contained in the sample tube with a reagent, and dropping the mixed solution onto an analysis strip provided in the cuvette.

This invention relates to an apparatus for conducting immunoassay test. The apparatus includes a groove unit having a groove along a vertical direction configured to hold a rod-shaped portion of a probe along the vertical direction, and a push pin configured to move along a horizontal direction, the push pin being capable of residing at a first position and a second position. A tip of the push pin is capable of pressing the rod-shaped portion of the probe against the groove when the push pin resides at the first position. The distance between the tip of the push pin and the groove is larger than a diameter of the rod-shaped portion of the probe when the push pin resides at the second position.

The subject methods include generating a reaction product by carrying out a biochemical reaction on the biological sample introduced into a device and reacting the reaction product with an indicator capable of generating a detectable change in an optical property of the biological sample to indicate the presence, absence, or amount of analyte suspected to be present in the sample.

This invention relates to an apparatus for conducting immunoassay test. The apparatus includes a groove unit having a groove along a vertical direction configured to hold a rod-shaped portion of a probe along the vertical direction, and a push pin configured to move along a horizontal direction, the push pin being capable of residing at a first position and a second position. A tip of the push pin is capable of pressing the rod-shaped portion of the probe against the groove when the push pin resides at the first position. The distance between the tip of the push pin and the groove is larger than a diameter of the rod-shaped portion of the probe when the push pin resides at the second position.
RECEPTACLE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
A receptacle distribution system includes a rotary distributor and a receptacle handoff device. The rotary distributor includes a motorized turntable with an upright wall, a distributor head for holding a receptacle, a hook configured to engage a receptacle for moving the receptacle into or out of the distributor head, and an a system for powered elevation of the distributor head. The receptacle handoff device is configured to transfer a receptacle from a first receptacle distributor to the rotary distributor and includes a receptacle yoke configured to hold a receptacle placed in the receptacle yoke with the first receptacle distributor, the receptacle yoke being rotatable between a first position to receive the receptacle and a second position to present the receptacle to the rotary distributor to enable the hook of the rotary distributor to pull the receptacle from the receptacle yoke and into the distributor head.
