Automated analysis device

An automatic analysis apparatus comprises: a light source generating light having a center wavelength equal to or shorter than 340 nm; a fluorescent substance excited by the light source light, and generates light together with transmitted light from the light source, having a wavelength of 340 nm to 800 nm; a condenser lens; at least one slit; a reaction cell holding a reaction solution where a specimen and reagent are mixed, and that the light source light and the light from the fluorescent substance enter; and a detector that detects light transmitted through the reaction cell. The light source, fluorescent substance, condenser lens, and slit are provided along a straight light corresponding to the optical axis. The width of the slit's opening is equal to or narrower than the width of a ray forming an image of the light source at the position of the slit.

PLATE IMAGER

The present invention includes multi-well plate readers, and methods of their use. The multi-well plate readers can transmit stimulation light to, and detect emission light from, individual wells of a multi-well plate at a plurality of distinct wavelengths.

Multi-wavelength light radiating apparatus

A multiwavelength-light-radiating apparatus (1) includes: a light source (11) that radiates continuous light (Lc); a diffracting part (12) that diffracts the continuous light (Lc) into numerous monochromatic lights (Lm), whose wavelengths differ from one another, and emits the numerous monochromatic lights (Lm); numerous optical waveguides (2) that respectively transmit the numerous monochromatic lights (Lm) emitted from the diffracting part (12) from incident ends (21) to output ends (22) where the numerous monochromatic lights (Lm) are respectively emitted; and a sample-placement part (3) that holds numerous samples such that the output ends (22) of the numerous optical waveguides (2) respectively oppose the samples. The numerous monochromatic irradiation lights, whose wavelengths differ from one another, are arranged to be radiated simultaneously onto the numerous samples, one light per sample.

LIGHT RECYCLING ARTICLE FOR BIO-ASSAY

An optical well is configured to receive a test sample for examining an optical characteristic of the sample at a first wavelength in a predetermined wavelength range. The optical well includes a wall having a bottom wall portion and a sidewall portion defining a chamber for receiving the test sample, and an optical film formed into a shape so that a portion of the sidewall portion includes a first portion of the optical film, and a portion of the bottom wall portion includes a second portion of the optical film. For a normally incident light, the microlayers in each of the first and second portions have an average optical reflectance of greater than about 80% in the predetermined wavelength range. The forming results in the plurality of microlayers of the integral formed optical film having a thinnest portion and a thickest portion having a thickness difference of at least 30%.
