INSPECTION SYSTEM

A means is provided for enabling easy identification of baggage in which one or more hazardous item is detected. An inspection system is equipped with a first conveyor, inspection device, cover, camera, controller and display. The first conveyor transports baggage to the inspection device. The inspection device captures transmitted-light images of the baggage using light that transmits through the baggage. The cover covers a transport path of the baggage to prevent a hand of a visitor from being inserted into an image shooting area where electromagnetic waves that are harmful to the human body are irradiated. The camera captures visible-light images of the baggage using visible light. The controller controls the first conveyor, inspection device, camera and display. Under control of the controller, the display simultaneously displays a transmitted-light image and a visible-light image of the baggage.

Automatic correction of tube label information
11511279 · 2022-11-29 · ·

A method to handle tubes in a diagnostic laboratory automation system comprising a control device and a tube-analyzing device is presented. The tube-analyzing device comprises a tube identification reader, a tube type recognition unit, a sample color determination unit, and a tube consistence unit. The tube identification reader reads tube identification device. The tube type recognition unit identifies tube type. The sample color determination unit determines sample color. The tube consistence unit determines sample consistency. The sample tube type, the tube type, the sample color, the sample consistency are send to the control device. The control device determines a construed tube type from one or more of the information of the tube type, the sample color, and the sample consistency. The control device checks whether the tube type matches the construed tube type and changes a used tube type from the tube type to the construed tube type.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTERNAL COATING OF OFFSHORE PIPELINE WELD JOINTS WITH FLUORESCENT ANTI-CORROSION COATINGS AND WET INSPECTION
20220357284 · 2022-11-10 ·

A system and method for coating marine pipeline weld joints and wet inspection of the applied coating is provided. The coating system includes an anti-corrosion coating including a fluorescent pigment to enhance inspection of the applied coating. The system also includes a robotic crawler for traversing inside the pipe and carrying a coating apparatus and inspection apparatus respectively configured to apply the coating on the weld joints and facilitate inspection of the wet coating. The coating apparatus comprises a spraying nozzle provided on a forward end of the robotic crawler and configured to spray coating onto on the surrounding circumferential pipe surface. The inspection apparatus includes an ultraviolet radiation emitter for activating the fluorescent pigment in the coating and a camera for providing a live image feed of the coated weld joint area to an operator computing station for inspection of the applied coating.

FLUID BREAKDOWN DETECTION SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES USEFUL FOR LIQUID IMMERSION COOLING
20230082410 · 2023-03-16 ·

A two-phase liquid immersion cooling system is described in which heat generating computer components cause a dielectric fluid cool the computer components. Advantageously, a pH indicator is employed to monitor the acidity of the dielectric fluid via, for example, a color change.

Fast image acquisition system and method using pulsed light illumination and sample scanning to capture optical micrographs with sub-micron features

An optical inspection system for detecting sub-micron features on a sample component. The system may have a controller, a camera responsive to the controller for capturing images, an objective lens able to capture submicron scale features on the sample component, and a pulsed light source. The pulsed light source may be used to generate light pulses. The camera may be controlled to acquire images, using the objective lens, only while the pulsed light source is providing light pulses illuminating a portion of the sample component. Relative movement between the sample component and the objective lens is provided to enable at least one of a desired subportion or an entirety of the sample component to be scanned with the camera.

Method and device for automatically identifying a point of interest on a viewed object
09842430 · 2017-12-12 · ·

A method and device for automatically identifying a point of interest (e.g., the deepest or highest point) on a viewed object using a video inspection device. The method involves placing a first cursor on an image of the object to establish a first slice plane and first surface contour line, as well as placing another cursor, offset from the first cursor, used to establish an offset (second) slice plane and an offset (second) surface contour line. Profile slice planes and profile surface contour lines are then determined between corresponding points on the first surface contour line and the offset (second) surface contour line to automatically identify the point of interest.

Fluid breakdown detection systems and processes useful for liquid immersion cooling

A two-phase liquid immersion cooling system is described in which heat generating computer components cause a dielectric fluid in its liquid phase to vaporize. Advantageously, a pH indicator is employed to monitor the dielectric fluid.

Leather inspection system
11668694 · 2023-06-06 · ·

A leather inspection apparatus is provided for detecting inconsistencies on both upper and lower surfaces of a hide. It includes a first camera assembly movably coupled to a support frame and capable of movement along the upper surface of the hide and a second camera assembly movably coupled to the support frame and capable of movement along the lower surface of the hide. A computing device is coupled to the first camera assembly and the second camera assembly, such that the first camera assembly detects the locations of inconsistencies in the upper surface of the hide and the second camera assembly detects the locations of inconsistencies in the lower surface of the hide. The computing device digitally stores the locations of the inconsistencies of the upper surface of the hide and the locations of the inconsistencies of the lower surface of the hide.

Automated aircraft inspection system
11186386 · 2021-11-30 · ·

A method, apparatus, and system for inspecting a fuselage of an aircraft. A rail is positioned within an interior portion of the fuselage of the aircraft such that the rail extends through the interior portion of the fuselage. An inspection device is attached to the rail. The inspection device moves along the rail and the position of the rail enables the inspection device to inspect the interior portion. Video data is sent to a computer system over a wireless communications link between the inspection device and the computer system. The video data is displayed on a display system for the computer system. Inspection operations are performed in the interior portion of the fuselage with the inspection device attached to the rail when a group of commands to perform the inspection operations are received from the computer system over a wireless communications link between the inspection device and the computer system.
