The device further includes a sensor coupled to a substrate via an electrical coupling, wherein the sensor is disposed within the internal volume of the housing unit, and wherein the sensor is in communication with an external environment of the housing unit from a side other than a side associated with the substrate. The device also includes a moisture detection unit electrically coupled to the sensor, wherein the moisture detection unit comprises at least two looped wires at different heights, and wherein the moisture detection unit is configured to detect presence of a moisture within an interior environment of the housing unit when the moisture detection unit becomes in direct contact with the moisture.
DATA COLLECTION DEVICE
A data collection device includes a main control module, at least one sensing module and a battery module. The main control module has at least one first connecting portion and at least one second connecting portion. The at least one sensing module is connected to the main control module. The at least one sensing module has a first conducting portion, an insulating layer and a second conducting portion. The insulating layer surrounds the first conducting portion. The second conducting portion surrounds the insulating layer. A top of the first conducting portion forms a first contacting portion. A bottom of the first conducting portion protrudes downward to form a second contacting portion. The first contacting portion is connected to the at least one first connecting portion. A top of the second conducting portion is connected to the at least one second connecting portion.
Micromechanical device and method for manufacturing a micromechanical device
A micromechanical device that includes a carrier substrate; a sensor device that is situated on the carrier substrate and spaced apart from a surface section of the carrier substrate with the aid of spring elements in such a way that the sensor device is oscillatable relative to the surface section; and at least one stopper element, situated on the sensor device and/or on the surface section of the carrier substrate, which limits a deflection of the sensor device in the direction of the surface section.
Dryness/wetness responsive sensor
The present invention is to provide a small-sized dryness/wetness responsive sensor that detects a galvanic current with a high sensitivity as a principle of operation. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a dryness/wetness responsive sensor comprises a thin wire made of a first metal and a thin wire made of a second metal, the second metal is different from the first metal, the thin wire of the first metal and the thin wire of the second metal are disposed in juxtaposition with each other on an insulating substrate, and a surface state of a part between the thin wire of the first metal and the thin wire of the second metal is hydrophilic or hydrophobic.
Thermo-piezoresistive embedded wireless sensor with real-time concrete monitoring
Embodiments are described herein for a sensor device created for determining and monitoring quality and strength developments in concrete and other materials using temperature and electrical resistivity parameters. The embodiments described herein may be utilized in the construction industry for real-time monitoring of concrete and cement structures or for monitoring the strength and quality of soils, polymers, and liquid additives as well. According to various embodiments, alternating current (AC) electrical and temperature measurements may be performed to correlate to the quality and performance of the concrete, polymers, treated soils, and other materials. These measurements may be made by compact sensor devices that are configured to read both temperature and AC electrical measurements continuously to quantify the performance of materials.
DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASURING MOISTURE CONTENT OF A WOOD MATERIAL
Disclosed is a device with a data transferring unit and a method for measuring moisture content of a wood material. Knots and other imperfections in a wood material causes problems in moisture content measurements. Also, more accurate data relating to the moisture of the material is needed during the time of storing, transporting and building. A device for measuring moisture in wood material includes a body part arrangeable on a surface of the wood material, measuring unit being functionally connected to the body part, wherein the measuring unit includes at least a first pair of electrodes and a second pair of electrodes to be inserted in the wood material for investigating, and wherein a measuring depth of the first pair and the second pair is arranged to differ for providing impedance data from a first depth and/or a second depth of the wood material.
Method and device for determination of water content
A method for determining water content of a preferably solid pharmaceutical preparation/sample, wherein at least two electrodes are brought into direct contact with the pharmaceutical preparation/sample in a measurement chamber such that the electrodes are electrically connected to one another via the pharmaceutical preparation/sample, and wherein a resistance of the pharmaceutical preparation/sample is determined by means of the electrodes and the water content and/or the sample quality of the pharmaceutical preparation/sample is determined with the ohmic resistance.
Sensor systems comprising auxiliary articles
A sensor system for detecting a property of or within an absorbent article may comprise an absorbent article and an auxiliary article.
ZONED ROOF MONITORING SYSTEM
A leak in the membrane of a generally horizontal roof support deck includes dividing the membrane into separate zones and locating a sensor to detect moisture underneath the membrane. A unique digital code address is assigned to sensor where inputs of the sensors are connected to a single power and signaling cable system using a daisy chain. The serial bus controller is to interrogate each of the sensor devices using the address to identify zones where moisture is detected. A transmitting antenna is provided at each sensor which is switched on when moisture is detected for detecting of the sensor from above the membrane by a utility locate device to confirm the location of the sensor.
ZONED ROOF MONITORING SYSTEM
A leak in the membrane of a generally horizontal roof support deck includes dividing the membrane into separate zones and locating a sensor to detect moisture underneath the membrane. A movable scanning device carried by a worker has a power supply antenna for supplying power by an electromagnetic wave to the sensor and the worker moves the scanning device to selected ones of the zones. At each selected zone the power supply antenna activates the sensor in the zone and the sensor to emits signals related to the moisture underneath the membrane as detected by the sensor device which are detected and recorded at the mobile scanning device.
