AUTOMATIC TRANSDUCER OPERATING PARAMETER SELECTION
Operating parameters are selected for inspecting a structure. Selecting the operating parameters includes exciting broadband ultrasonic guided waves in a multilayered structure, acquiring data corresponding to the sensed broadband ultrasonic guided waves in the multilayered structure, selecting one or more narrow frequency bands based on the acquired data, and inspecting the multilayered structure using ultrasonic guided waves in the one or more narrow frequency bands. In some examples, the data is acquired by an inspection tool capable of sensing the broadband ultrasonic guided waves in the multilayered structure.
METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR THE ANALYSIS OF GAS CHARACTERISTICS
Detection of gas characteristics, especially the detection of the gas composition, the temperature and/or humidity of a gas, by measuring the speed of sound with a sound sender and a sound receiver both mounted on common structure. A method for determining the humidity of the scavenge air of an internal combustion engine. A speed of sound based gas sensor arrangement adapted to measure gas characteristics, especially the gas composition, the temperature and/or the humidity of a gas, including a sender, a receiver and a signal processing unit. The speed of sound is determined by driving the sender and receiver at different operation cycles in order to differentiate between the different travel times of the sound through the gas and the common structure of solid material.
System with sonic sensor for detection and monitoring of fluid processing characteristics
A system for detecting characteristics of a fluid includes a sonic sensor. The sonic sensor includes a transducer, a transduction surface, and an acoustically reflective pad member. The transducer may be contained within a probe body, and the transduction surface may be an element of the probe body. A stem may connect the pad member to the transduction surface. The transducer will generate pulses that are transmitted to the pad member via a fluid when the transduction surface and pad member are immersed in the fluid. The system will detect the pulses when reflected and use that data to determine a speed of sound within the fluid. The system may use the speed of sound to determine density, specific gravity and/or stiffness of the fluid. The system may use that determination to assess a level of processing activity of the fluid, such as fermentation activity.
Inspection device, processing device and inspection method
According to an embodiment, an inspection device includes a transmitter, a receiver, and a processor. The transmitter transmits a first ultrasonic wave including burst waves of a first period. The first ultrasonic wave is incident on an inspection object between the transmitter and the receiver. The first ultrasonic wave passed through the inspection object is incident on the receiver. The receiver outputs a signal corresponding to the first ultrasonic wave. The processor obtains the signal and performs a first operation. The first operation includes deriving first and second signal values from the signal, and inspecting the inspection object based on at least one of the first signal values and at least one of the second signal values. The first signal values correspond to maximum values of the signal in each of first periods The second signal values correspond to maximum values of the signal in each of second periods.

A system and method for evaluation of material systems including linings bonded to substrates, the system and method including: an ultrasonic transmitter configured to provide an ultrasonic pulse to the material system; an ultrasonic receiver configured to receive ultrasonic signal data related to the pulses; a data storage module configured to store data related to the material system, ultrasonic pulse and empirical data; an analysis module configured to analyze the ultrasonic signal data based on the ultrasonic pulse, the data related to the material system and empirical data; and an output module configured to output the results of the analysis.
ACOUSTIC SIGNATURE MANAGEMENT ENGINE IN AN OBJECT INTEGRITY SENSING SYSTEM
Methods, systems, and computer storage media for providing an indication of an integrity of an object based on a non-invasive assessment of the integrity of the object using acoustic signature management engine in object integrity sensing system. In operation, an aggregate object-intermediate-medium sound of an object in an intermediate medium is detected (e.g., via sensors). An acoustic signature of the aggregate object-intermediate-medium sound is generated as a processed acoustic channel associated with statistical measurements. A reference acoustic signature of the object and intermediate medium is accessed. The reference acoustic signature is associated with an acoustic signature computation model, that generates reference acoustic signatures based on a mean and standard deviation measurements of input signals transmitted through the object and intermediate medium. A determination whether the object has impaired integrity is determined based on a quantified difference between the acoustic signature of the aggregate object-intermediate-medium sound and the reference acoustic signature.
Folded flat flexible cable guided wave sensor
A sensor includes a flexible cable arranged to provide a plurality of independent electrical coils and a connector. Each of the plurality of independent electrical coils extend from a first end to a second end and is configured to be wrapped at least partially around a surface of a structure to be tested. The connector is electrically coupled to the first end of at least one of the plurality of independent electrical coils. The plurality of independent electrical coils is configured such that current will flow in a common direction between the first ends and the second ends within each said independent coil. Systems and methods also are disclosed.

A method and system for ultrasonic testing of adhesion within a sample, which provides ultrasonic bursts of different frequencies to the sample and maintains a predetermined phase difference between echoes returned from the sample and representative reference signals of the bursts supplied to the sample until a spectrum of the phase differences versus frequency is obtained and from which properties of the adhesion at an interface reflecting the echoes are derivable.
