WATER-INDICATING PASTE COMPOSITIONS
20230028877 · 2023-01-26 ·

A visual indicating paste composition is provided which is capable of producing a detectable color change upon contact with an aqueous liquid. The paste composition includes: an indicator dye capable of changing color in the pH range between about 3 and about 11; an inorganic base capable of being converted to a more basic substance upon reaction with water; a liquid carrier (such as a polyalkylene glycol carrier); optionally, a gelling agent such as silica gel; and a proton donating compound such as a carboxylic acid or organosulfonic acid. When applied to a measuring probe, the paste composition is particularly adapted for detecting the water level in the bottom of tanks and delivery systems containing a fuel such as gasoline by producing a clear detectable color change without bleeding or run-off upon contact with an aqueous liquid. The paste composition exhibits long shelf life and improved water tolerance.

A composition comprising at least an electron-donating color-developing organic compound, an electron-accepting compound, and a color development regulator that hampers the color development by the electron-donating color-developing organic compound and the electron-accepting compound, wherein the color development regulator is hydrophilic, and the composition can change the color thereof in the presence of water or a water-containing liquid. A coloring agent comprising the composition, which composition is retained or carried by a specified microbody and can change its color in the presence of water or a water-containing liquid, wherein the specified microbody allowing water or a water-containing liquid to come into contact with the retained or carried composition.

METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING FILM DEGRADATION

An object of the present invention is to provide a novel method for diagnosing film degradation which can identify the degraded state of a film based on a resin more efficiently and reliably than ever. In order to attain this object, a method for diagnosing the degradation of a film based on a resin is adopted, the method comprising using the following analysis method A and/or analysis method B, which is a non-destructive analysis method: analysis method A: confirming the presence or absence of abnormality in the film by visual observation and olfactometry, and analysis method B: confirming the presence or absence of an acid anhydride and a sign of hydrolysis reaction as to the film by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis.

Pathogen transport modelled biomimetic sensor, sensing method, and fresh food sanitization

A pathogen transport modelled biomimetic sensor includes a stack of capacitive electrodes with a plurality of gaps therebetween. The gaps and electrodes are structured and arranged to model an outer layer and one or more sublayers of fresh food of interest. The electrodes are arranged to provide multiple measurable impedances that are affected in response to cell or polymeric biofilm presence that affects the electrostatic field around and between the electrodes and consequently changes the measurable impedances.

Thermoplastic films and bags with color changing indicators and methods of making the same

The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic film that includes a layer of thermoplastic material and a color indicator applied to the thermoplastic material. The color indicator can be configured to change color in response to a trigger. For example, the color indicator can change color (e.g., change from a first color to a second color) in response to a color change trigger, such as exposure to malodor particles, absorption of moisture, a length of time, or as a result of oxidation. In one or more embodiments, the thermoplastic film further includes an odor control component configured to mask, neutralize, or otherwise control malodors. The color indicator can change its color appearance as the odor control component performs to control any present malodors, thus signaling the performance of the odor control component.

A soil moisture indicator contains a water-absorbing material and a color-changing part. A body part is formed and hollow by a material through which water does not pass, and has a water-absorbing opening proximate one end and a transpiration opening positioned near the other end. A display part is connected to the other end of the body part and allows an inner hollow portion to be viewed. An upper-end part that constitutes the end portion of the display part can be removed from and connected to the display part at the end portion on the opposite side to the end portion connected to the body. There is a change in color tone indication between a water-absorbed state and a dry state.

MOISTURE DETECTION SENSOR, DEFECT DETECTION SENSOR, AND SENSOR ARRAY USING SAME

Provided are a moisture detection sensor, a defect detection sensor, and a sensor array using the same that make use of moisture-sensitive compounds reversibly reacting to water (moisture) to emit fluorescence, thereby reversibly sensing the moisture within a short period of time and also providing a high degree of sensitivity even to an extremely small quantity of moisture. The moisture detection sensor includes one or more moisture-sensitive compounds selected from the group consisting of Calcein, Calcein-AM (Calcein acetoxymethyl ester), and Calcein blue.
