RF signature detection for waveguide deformation
A radio frequency (RF) based waveguide health monitoring system is disclosed. The system employs an RF transmitter for launching a probe RF waveform into a waveguide. Reflections, etc., from the interior of the waveguide of the probe RF waveform create a signature RF waveform, with a health RF receiver receiving this resultant signature RF waveform. A health processing system analyzes the signature RF waveform, and when it detects a change indicative of a deformation of the waveguide, generates a warning signal. This change may be due to bends, flexes, vibrations (or changes in vibrations), or separations of the waveguide. The system may have low frequency, high frequency, or high frequency imaging modes. The system may employ a high-power probe RF waveform, thereby enabling a wireless charging system with power RF receivers located along the length of the waveguide providing additional functionality.
Dual Directional Asymmetric Coupler with a Shared Through-Line
A reflectometer may include two directional couplers in a parallel configuration, sharing the same section of a signal line or through-line. For example, two directional couplers may be disposed across from each other on opposite sides of the shared through-line. One of the directional couplers may couple, to a first port of the reflectometer, a portion of the signal power of a first signal flowing from the first end of the shared through-line to the second end of the shared through-line, and the other directional coupler may couple, to a second port of the reflectometer, a portion of the signal power of a second signal flowing from the second end of the shared through-line to the first end of the shared through-line. The reflectometer benefits from reduced size and signal loss with respect to reflectometers having a serial configuration. When used in vector network analyzer (VNA) systems, this results in higher output power and higher dynamic range of the VNA.

Accurate and model-based measurement and management systems and methods
Systems and methods for measurement and management are disclosed that provide complex measurements cost-effectively at very high accuracy. These methods and systems in some cases achieve measurement accuracy exceeding the accuracy of the reference standards they rely on, and eliminate expensive and disadvantageous recalibration procedures. The accurate measurements are integrated with management functions, applying the measurement data to meet objectives of the integrated system and workflow goals of its user. The disclosed systems and methods comprise an explicit or expressly represented model both of themselves and of candidate external systems to be measured and managed. The models may be configured and reconfigured by the owner-user through either local or remote means. The system intelligently reconfigures itself to adapt dynamically to the conditions of measurement and the user's and system's goals at each moment. In an embodiment, the system includes high-accuracy and reconfigurable components including a meter or control head adapted for user precision assembly and maintenance that computes and displays or communicates the measurements, displaying measurements in desired units, grouping functions according to ergonomic and cognitive principles based on the activity and workflow of a user in relation to the internal model. The use of models permits the system to compute and provide complex and inferred measurements of ultimate interest to the user, including quantities that cannot be directed measured and only can be determined through reasoning or computation by applying models to raw measurement data. The precision-assembly modular electromechanical design further permits an owner-user to precisely assemble, maintain, modify the apparatus and calibrate the equipment for accuracy.
Capacitive structure
A digital integrated circuit includes first areas of a substrate which incorporate digital functions and second areas of the substrate which are filler between first areas. A capacitance is provided by interdigitated metal-insulator-metal structures formed from a metallization level above the substrate. The structures of the capacitance are vertically aligned with one or more of the second areas.
Integrated cross contamination sensors
In some embodiments, a medical system includes a dialysis machine having at least one outer surface to be disinfected at a given location, at least one disinfection sensor connected to the dialysis machine at the given location, the disinfection sensor including two or more electrode in fluid contact with the outside surface of the dialysis machine, and a conductivity sensor component in electrical contact with the two or more electrodes, the conductivity sensor component configured to send an electrical signal indicating a conductivity of a liquid on an outside surface of the dialysis machine and in contact with the two or more electrodes, a processor configured to receive the electrical signal and thereby determine a disinfection status of the given location, and a user interface configured to indicate the disinfection status of the given location.
COMPACT BRILLOUIN ANTENNA FOR DETECTING METAL IN FREE SPACE AREA
The focus of the teachings is on using Compact ferrite antenna to detect the motion of metal objects using a very low frequency (VLF) square wave, propagated between a pair of compact ferrite-particle dielectric-core RWA antennas in free space. The two salient features in the signal are observed; both of which are characteristic of Brillouin-precursor propagation: (1) a temporal Bessel-like waveform; and (2) an algebraic, rather than exponential, attenuation with distance over three meters. The key element teaching shows pair of source and detector antenna enables the detection of metals (weapon gun, knife) on a person or package between the ferrite- particle dielectric-core antennas- source (S) and detector (D) pairs or arrays of S-D tractor. The detection consisted of a change in the amplitude of the Bessel-like waveform of the received signal for security system to detect weapons.

Multi-level RF pulse monitoring and RF pulsing parameter optimization at a manufacturing system
Methods and systems for multi-level RF pulse monitoring and RF pulsing parameter optimization at a manufacturing system are provided. A radio frequency (RF) signal is pulsed within a processing chamber in accordance with a set of RF pulsing parameters. Sensor data is received from one or more sensors that indicates a multi-level RF pulse waveform detected within the processing chamber based on the RF signal pulsing. One or more peaks are identified in the detected multi-level RF pulse waveform. Each identified peak corresponds to at least one RF signal pulse of the RF signal pulsing within the processing chamber. A determination is made, based on the identified one or more peaks, whether the detected multi-level RF pulse waveform corresponds to the target multi-level RF pulse waveform. An indication of whether the detected multi-level RF pulse waveform corresponds to the target multi-level RF pulse waveform is provided to a client device.
