Safety system and method
A safety system for localizing a person or object has a control and evaluation unit, at least one radio location system, and at least one spatially resolving sensor for the position determination of the person or object. The radio location system has arranged radio stations, wherein at least one radio transponder is arranged at the person or object. Position data and classification data of the person or object can be determined by means of the radio location system. The position data and the classification data can be transmitted from the radio station to the control and evaluation unit and position data and contour data of the person or object can be determined by means of the spatially resolving sensor. The control and evaluation unit is configured to compare the position data of the radio location system and the position data of the spatially resolving sensor.
A METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION OF AN ITEM USING PHASE DATA FOR MOVEMENT DETECTION
A method and system for identification of an item is provided, wherein the system comprises includes a conveyor belt, a conveyor belt controller and a reader operable to receive at least one reading from at least one tag attached to the item and extract from the reading a measurement of the phase of the signal transmitted by the tag and received at at least one antenna of the reader, the antenna being adapted to be arranged at a read point along the conveyor belt, wherein the conveyor belt controller is configured to start the conveyor belt at a first time instant, after the item has been placed on the conveyor belt, and to stop the conveyor belt at a second time instant, when the item has passed the antenna of the reader.
A METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION OF A TAG ON A MOVING ITEM
A method and system for identification of an item is provided, wherein the system includes a conveyor belt, a positioning device and a reader operable to receive at least one reading at at least one first antenna from at least one tag attached to the item, the first antenna being adapted to be arranged at a read point along the conveyor belt, wherein the positioning device is configured to retrieve a first position of the item at a first time instant before the first antenna and a second position of the item at a second time instant after the first antenna, the first and second time instants defining a time window, wherein the reader is configured to extract from each reading retrieved by the first antenna a measurement (6) of the phase of the signal transmitted by the tag (5) and perform a data processing of the phase measurements whereby the identification of the item (2) is accomplished.
ADAPTIVE TRIGGERING OF RTT RANGING FOR ENHANCED POSITION ACCURACY
A range between a first wireless device and a second wireless device is estimated using a first mechanism based on messages transmitted over a first communication channel. The first communication channel is associated with a first radio access technology capability of the wireless devices. One or more metrics indicative of an accuracy of the range estimates provided by the first mechanism are obtained. A second mechanism to estimate a range between the first wireless device and the second wireless device may be implemented in favor of the first mechanism when the metric fails to satisfy a criterion. The second mechanism is based on unicast messages transmitted over a second communication channel. The second communication channel is associated with a second radio access technology capability of the wireless devices and may be the same as, or different from, the first communication channel.
