Doppler shift navigation system and method of using same
A device, system and method of use for the relative navigation in a fluid medium, the device having a receiver and a controller, the receiver capable of receiving signals through the fluid medium. The signals, produced by a source, are capable of undergoing Doppler shift, and the controller is capable of determining the Doppler shift of the signals and determining the bearing between the device and the source of the signals. The system further having a first vehicle capable of producing the signals and a second vehicle having the device and wherein the device determines the bearing of the second vehicle in relation to the first vehicle.

Object-localization and tracking using ultrasonic pulses with reflection rejection
Methods and systems are disclosed for determining pose information for at least one of a transmitter and receiver, both of which comprise ultrasonic transducers. A relative position is determined between the transmitter and the receiver and an orientation for at least is also determined. After obtaining field of view data for at least one of the transmitter and receiver, a field of view between them is determined, based at least in part on the field of view data, the determined relative position and the determined orientation. The pose information is then determined by weighting measurements of an ultrasonic signal emitted by the transmitter and received by the receiver based at least in part on the determined field of view relationship.
Method and apparatus for augmented reality display of digital content associated with a location
Methods and apparatus for display of digital content associated with a location in a radio transmission area. A user interface is generated with a digital representation of energy levels received into an energy receiving sensor, such as a CCD or CMOS sensor. The user interface includes interactive portions based upon positions in the radio transmission area. The interactive portions may be activated to display the digital content in a user interface.
Structure monitoring
A method and apparatus for monitoring a structure using an optical fiber based distributed acoustic sensor (DAS) extending along the length of the structure. The DAS is able to resolve a separate acoustic signal with a spatial resolution of 1 m along the length of the fibre, and hence is able to operate with an acoustic positioning system to determine the position of the riser with the same spatial resolution. In addition, the fiber can at the same time also detect much lower frequency mechanical vibrations in the riser, for example such as resonant mode vibrations induced by movement in the surrounding medium. By using vibration detection in combination with acoustic positioning then overall structure shape monitoring can be undertaken, which is useful for vortex induced vibration (VIV) visualisation, fatigue analysis, and a variety of other advanced purposes. The structure may be a sub-sea riser.
Systems, methods and apparatus for implementing tracked data communications on a chip
An electronic chip, chip assembly, device, system, and method enabling tracked data communications. The electronic chip comprises a plurality of processing cores and at least one hardware interface coupled to at least one of the one or more processing cores. At least one processing core implements a game and/or simulation engine, at least one processing core implements a position engine, and at least one processing core implements a gyroscope and, optionally, an IMU. The at least one position engine obtains pose data from an external positioning system comprising GNSS augmented by millimeter-wave cellular networks and/or Wi-Fi; and internal pose data from the gyroscope, optional IMU, and game and/or simulation engine, the data comprising inertial, 3D structure, and simulation data, thereby computing a 6 DOF pose of the client device, driving processing of 3D applications by the one or more game and/or simulation engine.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RANGING FINDING, ORIENTING AND/OR POSITIONING OF SINGLE AND/OR MULTIPLE DEVICES AND/OR DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ORIENTATION AND POSITIONING
A method and apparatus for ranging finding of signal transmitting devices is provided. The method of signal reception is digitally based only and does not require receivers that are analog measurement devices. Ranging can be achieved using a single pulse emitting device operating in range spaced relation with a minimum of a single signal transmitter and a single digital receiver and processing circuitry. In general a plurality of transmitting pulsed emitters may be ranged and positioned virtually simultaneously in 3-dimensions (XYZ coordinates) using a configuration of a plurality of digital receivers arranged in any fixed 3-dimensional configuration. Applications may involve at least one single transmitter to receiver design to determine range, or at least one transmitted reflecting signal off from an object to determine range.

The method can comprise determining the location of said first object relative to the magnetic north, and determining the height of said first object relative to at least one reference point. The method can comprise obtaining the relative position of said at least one second object relative to said first object.

Apparatuses and methods are described herein for identifying a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), including, but not limited to, determining a first maneuver type, determining a first acoustic signature of sound captured by a plurality of audio sensors while the UAV performs the first maneuver type, determining a second acoustic signature of sound captured by the plurality of audio sensors while the UAV performs a second maneuver type different from the first maneuver type, determining an acoustic signature delta based on the first acoustic signature and the second acoustic signature, and determining an identity of the UAV based on the acoustic signature delta.
