Dual collimating lens configuration for optical devices
Aspects of the embodiments are directed to an opto-electronic device and methods of using the same. The opto-electronic device can include a processing device and a photonic device. The photonic device can include an optical demultiplexer; a collimating lens optically coupled to the optical demultiplexer and positioned to receive light from the optical demultiplexer, the collimating lens to collimate light received from the optical demultiplexer; a photodetector comprising a photosensitive element, the photosensitive element to convert received light into an electrical signal; and a focusing lens optically coupled to the photodetector, the focusing lens to receive light and focus the light towards the photosensitive element.
Lamp for vehicle
Provided is a lamp for a vehicle capable of achieving uniform brightness while improving sharpness of a light irradiation pattern. The vehicle lamp includes a light source system; and an optical system configured to allow light emitted from the light source system to be incident to the optical system through a plurality of incident lenses and to exit through a plurality of exit lenses corresponding to the plurality of incident lenses. The plurality of exit lenses include a first exit lens configured to output light therefrom in a first direction, and a second exit lens configured to output light therefrom in a second direction that is tilted by a predetermined angle with respect to the first direction.
LIGHT-EMITTING APPARATUS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
To provide a light-emitting apparatus capable of shaping light from a plurality of light-emitting elements into light with a plurality of shapes and a manufacturing method thereof. A light-emitting apparatus according to the present disclosure, including: a substrate; a plurality of light-emitting elements which are provided on a side of a first surface of the substrate; and a plurality of first lenses which are provided on a side of a second surface of the substrate and on which light emitted from the plurality of light-emitting elements is incident, wherein the plurality of first lenses include at least two types of lenses among a concave lens, a convex lens, and a flat lens.
Laser radar
A laser radar includes: a light source including a laser diode; an optical system configured to shape laser light emitted from the laser diode, into a line beam that is long in one direction, and project the line beam to a target area; and a scanner configured to perform scanning with the line beam in a short side direction of the line beam. The laser diode is disposed such that a fast axis of the laser diode extends along a direction corresponding to the short side direction of the line beam.
LUMINAIRE
The present invention relates to an optical device that enables the projection of the light to be controlled such that it comes out parallel to a non-active multi-cell shielding device, wherein said shielding device is not illuminated by the light beam, the user perceiving the light with all its intensity, without loss of intensity due to the reflection of said shielding device, wherein furthermore, due to the low profile thereof, the optical device enables same to be integrated into a luminaire with a reduced height dimension, which is also object of the present invention.
Light source unit
A light source unit includes: a sealed semiconductor laser package including a laser diode that includes an emitter region from which laser light is emitted, the emitter region located at a surface of the laser diode, and a window member configured to transmit the laser light; a first lens structure configured to receive the laser light transmitted through the window member and create an image of the emitter region on an image plane; and a second lens structure configured to convert the laser light having passed through the image plane into a collimated or converged beam, and to emit the collimated or converged beam.
MICRO-SCALE CONCENTRATED PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULE
A photovoltaic (“PV”) module may comprise an array of freeform micro-optics and an array of PV cells. The PV module may be a flat panel with a nominal thickness smaller than the length and width of the flat panel. An array of lenses may be embedded in an array substrate. The lenses may be coupled to light pipes. The lenses may concentrate light through the light pipes to multi-junction cells. Diffuse light may be transferred through the array substrate to a silicon cell. The lenses and light pipes may be manufactured using a molding and drawing process.

One embodiment relates to a lens comprising: a lower end portion having an incident surface to which light is incident; and an upper end portion having an emitting surface allowing the light having passed through the incident surface to pass therethrough, wherein the ratio of an incidence angle and an emission angle on a first plane and/or the ratio of an incidence angle and an emission angle on a second plane is smaller than the ratio of an incidence angle and an emission angle on a third plane, the incidence angle is an angle of the light incident to the incident surface with respect to a center axis, the emission angle is an angle of the light emitted from the emitting surface with respect to the center axis, each of the first to third planes is a plane passing the center axis and is parallel to a first direction, the first plane is perpendicular to the second plane, the third plane is positioned between the first plane and the second plane, the center axis passes the center of the lens and is parallel to the first direction, and the first direction is a direction facing the lower end portion from the upper end portion.
CHIRPED BRAGG GRATING ELEMENTS
Apparatus and methods for altering one or more spectral, spatial, or temporal characteristics of a light-emitting device are disclosed. Generally, such apparatus may include a volume Bragg grating (VBG) element that receives input light generated by a light-emitting device, conditions one or more characteristics of the input light, and causes the light-emitting device to generate light having the one or more characteristics of the conditioned light.

A lens diffusing light emitted from a light source includes a concave light-incident surface, a light guide portion, and a light-emitting surface. The light-incident surface includes a plane portion opposed to the light source and an optical function portion that is formed on the plane portion and one of scatters and diffuses the light. The light emitted from the light source enters the light-incident surface. The light that has entered the light-incident surface passes through the light guide portion. The light-emitting surface emits the light passed through the light guide portion.
