Adjustable waveguide assembly and augmented reality eyewear with adjustable waveguide assembly

An adjustable frame assembly for augmented reality eyewear. The frame assembly includes a face portion for supporting at least one waveguide that creates an eye box, a support rest for supporting the face portion on a user, and a coupling for adjusting the position of the face portion relative to the support rest. This enables movement of the waveguide eye box relative to the support rest to position the eye box in front of the wearer's eyes.

Display systems and methods for determining registration between display and eyes of user

A wearable device may include a head-mounted display (HMD) for rendering a three-dimensional (3D) virtual object which appears to be located in an ambient environment of a user of the display. The relative positions of the HMD and one or more eyes of the user may not be in desired positions to receive, or register, image information outputted by the HMD. For example, the HMD-to-eye alignment vary for different users and may change over time (e.g., as a given user moves around or as the HMD slips or otherwise becomes displaced). The wearable device may determine a relative position or alignment between the HMD and the user's eyes by determining whether features of the eye are at certain vertical positions relative to the HMD. Based on the relative positions, the wearable device may determine if it is properly fitted to the user, and provides feedback on the quality of the fit to the user, and may take actions to reduce or minimize effects of any misalignment.

HEAD-MOUNTABLE DEVICE WITH ADAPTABLE FIT

A head-mountable device can include adaptable components, which move to comfortably engage the face of the user and to exclude light from an external environment. A head-mountable device can include a light seal element that includes discrete portions that rotate relative to each other and to a user. Such mobility allows the portions to be oriented with respect to corresponding regions of the face, so that an engagement surface of each portion directly engages the corresponding region of the face to maximize the surface area of contact.

Apparatus for protecting eyes from radiation
11583447 · 2023-02-21 ·

The invention relates to an apparatus for protecting eyes from radiation, in particular for protecting the lenses of the eyes of medical personnel from x-ray radiation or other ionizing radiation during medical examinations. The apparatus is easy to handle and ensures shielding of the eyes from x-ray radiation, but nonetheless offers the best working and viewing conditions for the wearer. This is achieved by a housing made of a shell-type frame, which encloses the eye area and laterally the temples of the wearer, and a support device for placement on the head and with a nose rest for positioning on the bridge of the nose. The frame includes a frontal opening, in which a shield opaque to x-ray radiation is fitted, and at least one video playback device is arranged on the rear side of the shield, facing toward the eyes, inside the frame, and being coupled to an optical recording device or a camera, which is arranged on the side of the shield that faces away from the wearer.

IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

An image display device includes an observation optical system configured to guide light toward the eyes of an observer, a casing supporting the observation optical system so as to be movable along a predetermined path, a first heat dissipation part and a second heat dissipation part that are provided in the casing, positioned in opposite directions along the path with respect to the observation optical system, and configured to dissipate heat generated in the casing. A heat transfer part connects the first heat dissipation part and the second heat dissipation part so as to transfer heat between them.

EYE TRACKING MODULE AND HEAD-WEARABLE DEVICE
20220342224 · 2022-10-27 · ·

An eye tracking module and head-wearable device is disclosed. In one example, the eye tracking module includes a module housing which is at least substantially mirror symmetric with respect to a central plane and shaped to partly surround a nose of the user. A scene camera is arranged in and/or on the module housing. The eye tracking module further includes at least one of a first eye camera arranged in and/or on the lower portion of the module housing, wherein a first distance between the first eye camera and the central plane is at most about 20 mm, and a second eye camera arranged in and/or on the lower portion of the module housing, wherein a second distance between the second eye camera and the central plane at least substantially corresponds to the first distance.

Facial interface assemblies for head-mounted displays and related systems and methods

The disclosed flexible facial interface assemblies for head-mounted display systems may include a rigid support frame element and a flexible facial interface frame element. The rigid support frame element may be shaped and configured to physically support a display of a head-mounted display system in front of a user's eyes when the facial interface assembly is worn by the user. The flexible facial interface frame element may be configured to flex to conform to the user's facial features when the facial interface assembly is worn by the user. An outer periphery of the flexible facial interface frame element may be independently movable relative to an outer periphery of the rigid support frame element. Various other systems and methods are also disclosed.

A head worn display can be designed with an integrated camera for obtaining an image of a scene, transmitting the obtained image to a processor, modification of the image in substantially real time by the processor, and displaying the modified image on a display device worn by the individual. According to embodiments of the invention various methods are provided for adjusting the position of the displayed video in the horizontal left/right, vertical up/down, and horizontal in/out, and angular up/down dimensions relative to the individual's eyes.

Wearable electronic display with pivoting display

A wearable display apparatus includes a display for providing viewable images. A display support assembly can support the display. The display support assembly can be self centering and telescoping for adjusting the position of the display for viewing by a user. The display support assembly can include right side and left side arm members spaced apart from each other, and a flexibly resilient support member to which the display is mounted between the arm members. The support member can be telescopically mounted to the arm members. The support member can have flexibly resilient right and left side portions secured to the display. Each side portion can be slidably mounted to a respective arm member for telescoping. The support member can have a material cross section that provides stiffness for supporting the display when in a generally horizontal orientation for viewing while also providing resilient flexibility between the arm members to self center the display between the arm members with changes in distances between the arm members.
