The present invention provides a photodiode for a wearable sensor system, the photodiode having a rectangular active area sensitive to wavelengths within the spectral range of 1200 nm to 2400 nm. The present invention also provides a wearable sensor system comprising the photodiode.

Optical element device and producing method thereof
An optical element device includes an opto-electric hybrid board sequentially including an optical waveguide having a mirror, and an electric circuit board having a terminal in a thickness direction, and an optical element optically connected to the mirror and electrically connected to the terminal. The opto-electric hybrid board includes a mounting region including the mirror and the terminal when projected in the thickness direction and mounted with the optical element. Furthermore, the opto-electric hybrid board includes an alignment mark for aligning the optical element with respect to the mirror. The alignment mark is made of a material for forming the optical waveguide, and disposed at both outer sides of the mounting region in a width direction.

LIGHT GUIDE AND VIRTUAL IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE
A light guide includes: a light guide board configured to allow light incident on an optical entrance to propagate through the light guide board, the light guide board including: the optical entrance; a first face; and at least one partial reflection layer within the light guide board and tilted to the first face. The at least one partial reflection layer is configured to reflect a part of light incident on the at least one partial reflection layer at an incident angle of greater than or equal to a critical angle θ.sub.r to allow the reflected light to exit the light guide board through the first surface while transmitting therethrough a remainder of the light incident on the at least one partial reflection layer. Formula below is satisfied: θ.sub.r=sin.sup.−1(n.sub.2/n.sub.1) where θ.sub.r is the critical angle; n.sub.1 is a refractive index of the light guide board; and n.sub.2 is a refractive index of the at least one partial reflection layer.

According to the present disclosure, techniques related to manufacturing and applications of power photodiode structures and devices based on group-III metal nitride and gallium-based substrates are provided. More specifically, embodiments of the disclosure include techniques for fabricating photodiode devices comprising one or more of GaN, AlN, InN, InGaN, AlGaN, and AlInGaN, structures and devices. Such structures or devices can be used for a variety of applications including optoelectronic devices, photodiodes, power-over-fiber receivers, and others.

An fiber-optic connector assembly includes a fiber optic ferrule and a connector, which engage an optical transceiver component. The fiber optic ferrule engages a mating plane of a lens array in the optical transceiver component and floats within the connector. The engagement of the assembly and the optical transceiver component may be removable rather than fixed. The fiber optic ferrule also engages a mechanical interface to account for three degrees of freedom, while the engagement of the mating surfaces account for another three degrees of freedom.
STRUCTURES AND METHOD FOR THERMAL MANAGEMENT IN ACTIVE OPTICAL CABLE (AOC) ASSEMBLIES
Disclosed are structures and methods for active optic cable (AOC) assembly having improved thermal characteristics. In one embodiment, an AOC assembly includes a fiber optic cable having a first end attached to a connector with a thermal insert attached to the housing for dissipating heat from the connector. The AOC assembly can dissipate a suitable heat transfer rate from the active components of the connector such as dissipating a heat transfer rate of 0.75 Watts or greater from the connector. In one embodiment, the thermal insert is at least partially disposed under the boot of the connector. In another embodiment, at least one component of the connector has a plurality of fins. Other AOC assemblies may include a connector having a pull tab for dissipating heat from the assembly.
