IMAGE BASED DETECTION OF FIT FOR A HEAD MOUNTED WEARABLE COMPUTING DEVICE

A system and method of detecting display fit measurements and/or ophthalmic measurements for a head mounted wearable computing device including a display device is provided. An image of a fitting frame worn by a user of the computing device is captured by the user, through an application running on the computing device. One or more keypoints and/or features and/or landmarks are detected in the image including the fitting frame. A three-dimensional pose of the fitting frame is determined based on the detected keypoints and/or features and/or landmarks, and configuration information associated with the fitting frame. The display device of the head mounted wearable computing device can then be configured based on the three-dimensional pose of the fitting frame as captured in the image.

A spectacle lens for at least one eye of a user, a method for producing a spectacle lens, and a computer program product having executable instructions for performing the method for producing the spectacle lens are disclosed. The spectacle lens has a permanent marking which is or contains a diffractive structure, wherein a diffractive pattern generated by illumination of the diffractive structure is configured to be invisible upon a first kind of illumination and configured to be visible only upon a second kind of illumination. The permanent markings on the spectacle lens are, on one hand, invisible to the user or to a spectator looking at the user wearing the spectacle lens without utilizing specially selected optical aids but, on the other hand, enables continued control of the spectacle lens in front of the eye of the user by an optician or a specifically designated optical sensor.

Method for determining an electronic spectacle frame element

A method for determining an electronic spectacle frame element of a spectacle frame, including providing electronic element data relating to an electronic element to be embodied in a spectacle frame element; providing predetermined spectacle frame element data related to at least one geometrical parameter of a predetermined spectacle frame element, corresponding to the wearer demand; defining a working electronic spectacle frame element including a working spectacle frame element and an electronic element embodied in the working spectacle frame element based on the electronic element data, modifying the working electronic spectacle frame element, and determining the electronic spectacle frame element by repeating the modifying step so as to minimize the difference between the geometrical parameters of the predetermined spectacle frame element and the working spectacle frame element.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING EYEGLASS FOR PROVIDING LIGHT TO AN EYE, BLANK AND SET OF EYEGLASSES

Methods of manufacturing eyeglasses are provided. The method may include providing a blank (63) with an outcoupling element (25) and machining the blank to provide a light receiving surface based on the at least one physiological parameter. Corresponding blanks and sets of eyeglasses are also provided.

The present disclosure relates to a method for expanding an image database for evaluation of eyewear compatibility. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a method, comprising receiving a user image, receiving a frame image, processing the received frame image by setting, as transparent, pixels of the received frame image except for an anterior face of the frame, defining, within the processed frame image, a left boundary and a right boundary of the anterior face of the frame, the left boundary and the right boundary corresponding to the left eye and the right eye, respectively, receiving a filter image, processing the received filter image by setting, as transparent, pixels in the received filter image outside the frame based on the left boundary and the right boundary, merging the processed frame image and the processed filter image, and overlaying the merged image onto the received user image.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING A VALUE OF AT LEAST ONE GEOMETRICO-MORPHOLOGICAL PARAMETER OF A SUBJECT WEARING AN EYEWEAR
20230020160 · 2023-01-19 · ·

A method for determining a value of at least one geometrico-morphological parameter of a subject wearing an eyewear. The method including obtaining at least one image of a head of the subject wearing the eyewear, identifying simultaneously, on the at least one image obtained, a set of remarkable points of the image of the eyewear and a set of remarkable points of the image of the head of the subject, using an image processing algorithm determined based on a predetermined database comprising a plurality of reference images of heads wearing an eyewear, the image processing algorithm being based on machine learning, and determining at least one value of a geometrico-morphological parameter taking into account the sets of remarkable points of the image of the eyewear and head of the subject identified.

Predicting display fit and ophthalmic fit measurements using a simulator

A system and method of detecting display fit measurements and/or ophthalmic measurements for a head mounted wearable computing device including a display device is provided. The system and method may include capturing image data including a face of a user to be fitted for the head mounted wearable computing device. A three-dimensional head pose and gaze measurements may be extracted and a three-dimensional model may be developed from the captured image data. The system may detect display fit measurements and/or ophthalmic fit measurements from the three-dimensional model, and may provide one or more head mounted wearable computing devices that meet the display fit and/or ophthalmic fit requirements.

IMAGE-BASED FITTING OF A WEARABLE COMPUTING DEVICE

A system and method are provided for sizing and fitting a head mounted wearable computing device for a user based on image data of the head of the user, including a known reference device having a known scale. The system and method may include capturing image data including a face of the user to be fitted for the head mounted wearable computing device. The known reference device having the known scale is compared to features detected in the image data to determine a scaling factor. The scaling factor is used to size, or assign measures to facial features detected in the image data. A three-dimensional model of the head of the user may be generated from the captured image data.

Eyewear can include lenses having perimeters that are customized for an intended wearer. The perimeter of the lenses can be determined based on anatomical features of the wearer's face, field of vision, or other parameters specific to that individual. A provisional lens perimeter obtained may be modified in curvature and/or size to arrive at a desired final lens perimeter, based for example on stylistic preferences or to accommodate external elements affecting the perimeter and/or curvature of the lens. Customized lenses can be fabricated based on the determined lens perimeters. The customized lenses can be assembled into completed eyewear that is customized for a wearer, for example having shapes, sizes, and designs not otherwise possible.
