An illumination device system includes: an illumination device including an engaging portion configured to engage with an illumination device support base, a main body portion, a light emitting portion configured to swing around a turning axis in relation to the main body portion, and a cable extending from the main body portion; and a diffuser, and the diffuser swings around the turning axis between an advanced position positioned in front of the light emitting portion and a withdrawn position withdrawn from the front of the light emitting portion, and includes a first locking portion configured to engage with the illumination device support base and holds the diffuser at the advanced position, and a second locking portion configured to engage with the cable and holds the diffuser at the withdrawn position.

At least two light sources are inserted into the plug-in locations. A substantially transparent protective cover is connected to the connecting element and at least partially encloses each of the light sources connected to the connecting element. One light source is designed as an HMI (Hydrargyrum Medium-Arc Iodide) light and the at least one other light source is designed as a flash tube. A lighting device including a lighting unit, and a reflector assembly with a lighting device, are also disclosed.

An external flash transmits a light emission preparation time from when reception of a light emission command is completed until when a light emission trigger is acceptable. An imaging device communicates with the external flash, acquires the light emission preparation time, and optimizes an output timing of the light emission trigger on the basis of the light emission preparation time. The present technology is applicable to, for example, an imaging system including an external flash and an imaging device.

A lighting device capable of suppressing an excessive temperature rise of a light emission section even when a fan is incapable of normal rotation. The light emission section emits light for illuminating an object. The fan cools the light emission section. A motor driving section drives the fan for rotation. A strobe microcomputer determines whether or not the motor driving section is abnormal, and controls a light emission interval of the light emission section in continuous light emission, based a result of the determination.

The four groups are sequentially arranged in the direction of an optical axis; and the lamp realizes zooming by movement of the zooming group and the compensating group in the direction of the optical axis. A change of a pattern or a beam size is realized; the number of lenses is reduced; zooming of the zoom lens is realized only by movement of the zooming group and the compensating group.
