An image forming apparatus includes a printing unit, first and second stacking units, first and second conveyance units, and a control unit. When the first conveyance unit conveys a sheet to the first stacking unit, the printing unit prints an image on a first number of sheets as first sheets in a first printing operation and prints the image on the first sheets in a second printing operation. When the second conveyance unit conveys the sheet to the second stacking unit, the printing unit prints the image on a second number of sheets, greater than the first number of sheets, as second sheets in the first printing operation and prints the image on the second sheets in the second printing operation. A number of sheets printed per unit time in the second printing operation is less than a number of sheets printed per unit time in the first printing operation.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming part to form an image on a medium and a photo-finishing part to thermally transfer a coating film covering the image onto the medium.

An image forming apparatus includes a reverse roller pair including a drive roller and a driven roller by which a recording medium is nipped and conveyed reversibly, a motor configured to rotate the drive roller reversibly, a conveyance roller pair, a detection unit configured to detect the recording medium conveyed by the conveyance roller pair, and a controller configured to control the motor, in a case in which the recording medium is detected by the detection unit, to cause the drive roller to rotate in a first rotation direction by a first rotation amount, thereafter to cause the drive motor to rotate in a second rotation direction by a second rotation amount. An image reading apparatus including: a conveyance path; a light transmitting member; a first reading unit; a second reading unit; a first roller disposed opposite to the first reading unit; a second roller disposed opposite to the second reading unit; a holding member configured to hold the first roller and the second roller; a plurality of first abutment portions provided on both end portion sides in a width direction of the first roller and forming a gap between the light transmitting member and the first roller by abutting on the light transmitting member; a plurality of second abutment portions provided on both end portion sides in the width direction of the second roller and forming a gap between the light transmitting member and the second roller by abutting on the light transmitting member; and an urging member urges the holding member against the light transmitting member.

A method for producing a printed material includes providing pressure-induced phase transition particles on a recording medium having an arithmetic average roughness Ra of 0.07 μm or more and 3.80 μm or less to form a pressure-induced phase transition particle layer having a coverage C within a range of 30% to 90%; bonding the pressure-induced phase transition particles onto the recording medium; and folding the recording medium having the pressure-induced phase transition particles bonded thereon and pressure-bonding the folded recording medium, or pressure-bonding the recording medium having the pressure-induced phase transition particles bonded thereon and another recording medium placed on top of each other. The pressure-induced phase transition particles have at least two glass transition temperatures, and the difference between the lowest glass transition temperature and the highest glass transition temperature among the glass transition temperatures exhibited by the pressure-induced phase transition particles is 30° C. or more.

An image forming device includes an image forming unit, a roller unit, a static elimination brush, a moving unit, and a control unit. The static elimination brush eliminates static electricity of the printing medium. The moving unit moves the static elimination brush between a first position that does not intersect a first conveyance path on a downstream side of the roller unit in the conveyance path and a second position that intersects the first conveyance path. The control unit controls the moving unit during the conveyance of the printing medium, positions the static elimination brush at a position different from the second position until a front end of the printing medium passes an intersection position at which the static elimination brush and the first conveyance path intersect if the static elimination brush is positioned at the second position, and moves the static elimination brush to the second position after the front end of the printing medium passes the intersection position until a rear end of the printing medium passes the intersection position.

A sheet conveyance guide includes a sheet material. The sheet material has a surface to face a sheet when the sheet conveyance guide guides the sheet travelling in a conveyance direction. The sheet material has irregularities over a whole area of the surface.

A first guide member guides a sheet from a sending roller pair to a discharge port. A second guide member is disposed above the first guide member such that an upstream end of the second guide member in a sheet discharge direction overlaps the first guide member, and forms an upper partition of a discharge path in an area extending from a position above an end of the first guide member to a position of a discharge roller pair. The second guide member guides the sheet to the discharge roller pair. A cooling fan blows air from below the discharge path toward a lower surface of the second guide member. The lower surface of the second guide member is formed convexly curved upward when viewed in a width direction intersecting the sheet discharge direction. The lower surface of the second guide member guides air toward the first guide member.

An image forming apparatus includes a first casing including a transfer unit, a second casing including a fixing unit, and a third casing provided between the first casing and the second casing and including an intermediary feeding member. The first casing includes a first discharging port discharging a recording material with a toner image. The second casing includes a first receiving port receiving the recording material with the toner image. A height from an installing surface of the image forming apparatus to the first receiving port in a vertical direction is different from a height from the installing surface to the first discharging port. The intermediary feeding member of the third casing is provided obliquely in the vertical direction from a second receiving port receiving the recording material from the first discharging port to a second discharging port delivering the recording material to the first receiving port.

An image forming system that is capable of forming an image onto a sheet on a basis of print image data including multiple image data items imposed in such a manner as to be suitable for middle-folding and saddle-stitching and outputting a booklet by performing middle-folding and saddle-stitching includes: a storing unit that stores beforehand, as an output-processing content table, an inclination direction of a compilation tray onto which a stack of sheets that is to be subjected to imposition processing for pages or a facing page of the booklet and the middle-folding and saddle-stitching is placed; and a processing unit that generates the print image data by acquiring information of the inclination direction of the compilation tray, referencing to the output-processing content table, and performing the imposition processing.
