Image forming apparatus for prolonging life of replaceable image forming unit
An image forming apparatus includes first and second image forming portions and a belt. The first and second image forming portions include first and second image bearing members, and first and second transferring members, respectively. The belt nips and feeds a recording material. The first image forming portion is disposed upstream of the second image forming portion in a moving direction of the recording material, and a plurality of members including the first and second image bearing members are integrally assembled and are mountable on or dismountable from a main assembly of the image forming apparatus. A film thickness of a surface of the first image bearing member is larger than a film thickness of a surface of the second image bearing member, circumferential speed ratios or contact pressures of rotating components differ, and/or mass ratios of components of respective developers differ.
Toner conveying device of image forming apparatus including pushing member to push conveyance member from different directions
A toner conveying device includes a case storing toner; a conveyance member rotatably supported at both ends by the case, including a spiral blade extending along a rotational axis, and configured to rotate to convey the toner inside the case in a predetermined conveying direction; and a pushing member pushed against an outer peripheral portion of the conveyance member in a first direction intersecting with the rotational axis and configured to slide on the outer peripheral portion as the conveyance member rotates. The pushing member is composed of a flexible sheet member and includes a base portion secured at a securing position inside the case and protruding pieces aligned along the rotational axis and protruding from the base portion toward the conveyance member to abut on the outer peripheral portion. An alignment interval between the protruding pieces is different from a pitch of the spiral blade along the rotational axis.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes: a toner image former that forms a toner image on an outer peripheral surface of a photosensitive rotating body and that transfers the toner image having been formed onto a transfer receiving object; a detector that detects a grayscale abnormality of the toner image on the photosensitive rotating body or the transfer receiving object; a cleaner that cleans the outer peripheral surface of the photosensitive rotating body; and a hardware processor that causes the cleaner to clean when the detector detects the grayscale abnormality at a same position in a main scanning direction per circumferential length of the photosensitive rotating body in a sub-scanning direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a skew correction device and a cleaning device. The skew correction device includes first conveying rollers. The first conveying rollers are rotatable about a predetermined rotation fulcrum. The first conveying rollers are, before a sheet, which is skewed, enters a device body, rotated from an initial position, and, when the sheet enters the device body, rotated back to the initial position while nipping and conveying the sheet. The cleaning device includes a toner conveying member that conveys residual toner on an image-carrying member to a predetermined container. Both the first conveying rollers and the toner conveying member operate by consecutively receiving a rotational driving force from a common electric motor.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a development roller configured to supply developer to the photosensitive drum, a transfer roller configured to transfer a developer image formed on the photosensitive drum to a recording material, and a cleaning roller being in contact with the photosensitive drum, configured to clean a part of the recording material adhered to the photosensitive drum, wherein the diameter of the transfer roller is greater than the diameter of the development roller and the diameter of the cleaning roller is greater than the diameter of the development roller.
CLEANER ROLLERS AND CLEANING ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTOCONDUCTORS
Herein is described a liquid electrophotographic a printing apparatus comprising: a photoconductor; a liquid electrophotographic ink developer unit for applying liquid electrophotographic ink to the photoconductor; a cleaner roller contactable with the photoconductor, the cleaner roller comprising an open-celled foam material having thereon a coating comprising abrasive particles and a binder. Also described herein is a cleaner roller for cleaning a liquid electrophotographic printing apparatus’ photoconductor and a method of operating a liquid electrophotographic printing apparatus using a cleaner roller described herein.
Toner conveying device of image forming apparatus including pushing member to push conveyance member from different directions
A toner conveying device includes a case that can store therein toner to be conveyed, a conveyance member rotatably supported at both ends thereof by the case and configured to rotate to convey the toner inside the case in a conveying direction set in advance, and a pushing member pushed against the conveyance member and configured to slide on an outer peripheral portion of the conveyance member as the conveyance member rotates. The pushing member includes a first sheet member having flexibility and abutting on the outer peripheral portion in a first direction intersecting with a rotational axis direction of the conveyance member to push the conveyance member and a second sheet member having flexibility and abutting on the outer peripheral portion in a second direction, which is different from the first direction, intersecting with the rotational axis direction to push the conveyance member.
ROLLER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS USING SAME
Provided is a roller capable of suppressing generation of cut waste from an end of a roller due to contact with another member inside a device when mounted on an image forming device, particularly a conductive roller, and an image forming device using the same. A roller includes a shaft 1 and a base layer 2 provided on the outer periphery of the shaft. A filler layer 4 covering the base layer is provided on end faces of both ends of the base layer in the roller axial direction, and the filler layer is composed of a material having a breaking strain measured according to a tensile test of JIS K 7127 of not less than 120% and a tensile stress at 100% elongation measured according to a tensile test of JIS K 7127 of from 5 to 30 N/mm.sup.2.
CLEANING A SILICON PHOTOCONDUCTOR
In an example implementation, a method of cleaning a silicon photoconductor includes contacting the silicon photoconductor with a base-peroxide solution, rinsing the silicon photoconductor with a liquid, and heating the silicon photoconductor to evaporate the liquid.
ROLLER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS USING SAME
Provided is a roller, in particular a conductive roller, capable of suppressing generation of cut debris from a cut surface of an end part of a foam layer in the roller axial direction over a long period of time, and an image forming device using the roller.
