Focus Adjustment Method For Holographic Imaging System
A focus adjustment method for acquiring an image of a surface of interest of a sample by a holographic imager includes the steps of: placing the sample including at least one reference object having a known shape and described by characterising parameters having at least position parameters acquiring an image and determining the position of the reference object with respect to the acquisition plane, by applying a light diffraction model involving the spatial parameters of the reference object estimated by approximating the appearance of the reference object in the holographic image acquired, and determining the position of the surface of interest with respect to the acquisition plane from a position of the reference object and focus adjustment of the image acquisition.
Method and apparatus for processing hologram image data
A method and apparatus for processing hologram image data capable of optimizing image quality of a hologram image are provided. The image processing method includes receiving input image data, reading a header included at a predetermined location in the input image data, and generating hologram data configured to display a hologram image by performing a Fourier calculation and pixel encoding on the input image data based on at least one parameter recorded in the header, wherein the at least one parameter recorded in the header includes at least one of depth information, scale information, and gamma information.
Method and apparatus for reconstructing three-dimensional image by using diffraction grating
A method of reconstructing a three-dimensional (3-D) image on the basis of a diffraction grating includes extracting parallax images from a raw image of an object photographed by using a diffraction grating and reconstructing a 3-D image from the extracted parallax image array by using a virtual pinhole model.
HOLOGRAPHIC OPTICAL ELEMENTS FOR AUGMENTED REALITY DEVICES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING AND USING THE SAME
Holographic optical elements for augmented reality (AR) devices and methods of manufacturing and using the same are disclosed. A disclosed system includes a holographic optical element (HOE), and a first light source to direct a first beam of light toward the HOE from a first direction. The first beam of light is collimated. The disclosed system further includes a second light source to direct a second beam of light toward the HOE from a second direction. The disclosed system also includes a decollimation lens positioned between the first light source and the HOE. The decollimation lens is to decollimate the first beam of light.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A COMPUTER-GENERATED HOLOGRAM, HOLOGRAM, AND LIGHTING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE
A method for producing a computer-generated hologram including producing a reference beam, producing an object beam, applying computer-generated information regarding the hologram to the object beam, overlapping the object beam and the reference beam on or in a light-sensitive recording medium in order to apply the hologram by exposure, wherein several portions of the light-sensitive recording medium are exposed, one after the other, to the object beam and the reference beam simultaneously in order to produce a plurality of sub-holograms, wherein the angle of incidence at which the reference beam hits the surface of a first portion of the recording medium is different from the angle of incidence at which the reference beam hits the surface of a second portion of the recording medium. A change in the angle of incidence of the reference beam is achieved by changing the point of incidence of the reference beam on a lens.
Apparatus for manufacturing holographic optical element, and apparatus for reconstructing holograms
An apparatus for manufacturing a hologram includes a holographic optical element on which a first interference pattern of a first signal beam and a first reference beam is recorded and a second interference pattern of a second signal beam modulated by a Fourier lens and a second reference beam is recorded. Also, an apparatus for reconstructing a hologram by using the holographic optical element is provided.
Holographic optical elements for augmented reality devices and methods of manufacturing and using the same
Holographic optical elements for augmented reality (AR) devices and methods of manufacturing and using the same are disclosed. An example AR device includes a holographic optical element (HOE) including a recorded optical function, and a projector to emit light toward the HOE. The HOE reflects the light based on the optical function to produce a full image corresponding to content perceivable by a user viewing the reflected light from within an eyebox. A first portion of the content is viewable from a first location within the eyebox. A second portion of the content is viewable from a second location within the eyebox. The first portion including different content than the second portion that is non-repeating between the first and second portions.
Method for a holographic projector
A projection system that facilitates the use of in-situ detection of a change in wavelength, thereby enabling appropriate compensation or corrections to be applied on the fly to improve the quality of the image in the primary image region. In-situ detection in this manner can allow wavelength changes due to both temperature fluctuations and hardware variations to be compensated for simultaneously, thereby reducing the time and expense for end of line hardware testing, and removing the need to perform in-situ mapping of the wavelength as a function of temperature. In this way, the quality of the image provided to a user can be improved in a simpler, more efficient manner.
