METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACQUISITION OF RELIABLE TIME IN A WIRELESS NETWORK
20230032067 · 2023-02-02 ·

Accurate and reliable time is acquired by a user equipment (UE) from a base station in a wireless network. The base station may obtain the time, e.g., UTC time or a GNSS time, and ciphers at least a portion of the time before broadcasting the time. The UE determines a propagation delay between the UE and the base station based on a timing advance, known locations of the UE and the base station, or a measured round trip propagation time (RTT) between the UE and the base station. A corrected time can be determined based on the time received from the base station and the propagation delay. A digital signature included with the time broadcast by the base station increases reliability. Spoofing of the broadcast time by an attacking device may be detected by the UE based on the propagation delay being outside an expected range.

COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC TIMEPIECE, COMMUNICATION METHOD AND RECORDING MEDIUM

A communication apparatus comprises a communicator that receives a standard time from an external apparatus, a manipulation receiver that receives a time correction action from a user, and a controller that performs a timing processing for clocking time and a time correction processing for correcting the time clocked by the timing processing, on the basis of the standard time received by the communicator, or on the basis of the time correction action received by the manipulation receiver. The controller changes processing contents of the time correction processing until a prescribed time interval has elapsed, when the time clocked by the timing processing is corrected on the basis of the time correction action received by the manipulation receiver.

Provided is a broadcasting control apparatus configured to generate a system time for broadcasting control, the system time being synchronized with a reference time in accordance with a predetermined time protocol, and configured to correct, when leap second adjustment information indicating that leap second adjustment is scheduled to be completed at a first time in the reference time is received, the system time by a correction amount depending on a time length D over a correction period having the time length D from a second time earlier than the first time, the time length D being set such that a correction amount per second of the system time is equal to or less than a cycle corresponding to an inverse of a video frame rate.

Communication device, communication method, communication system, electronic watch, and program

A communication system (1) comprises a central (100) and a peripheral (200). The central (100) receives location information and time information from NTP servers (10) and a location server (30). The central (100) creates first offset information of the time measured by its own device and the time information received from the NTP servers (10). The central (100) acquires from map information a time difference corresponding to a location presented by the location information received from the location server (30). The central (100) creates first updated time information based on the time measured by its own device, first offset information, and time difference corresponding to the location presented by the location information received from location server (30) and transmits the first updated time information to the peripheral (200). The peripheral (200) changes the time displayed by its own device based on the received first updated time information.
