Methods and systems to commission building environmental sensors are disclosed. The system include a device that will move about the environment of a building (inside and/or outside) and detect building environmental sensor devices that are installed in the environment. For each of the sensor devices, in response to detecting the sensor device, the system will retrieve an identifier for the sensor device, and it will determine whether the sensor device is registered with a control system. If the sensor device is registered with the control system, the system will not automatically implement a commissioning process with the sensor device. If the sensor device is not registered with the control system, the system will automatically implement the commissioning process with the sensor device.

A system for utilizing an identification marker on a tool part for determining a dimension thereof. The system includes a reader device for reading a machine readable code, and an electronic device connected to the reader device. The electronic device has a processing circuitry that causes the system to detect with the reader device, an identification marker at a tool part, wherein the identification marker is a unique machine readable code read by the reader device, and the unique machine readable code of the identification marker, and obtain from the unique machine readable code, individual dimension information data including at least one individually measured dimension of the tool part measured when manufacturing the tool part. A method and a computer program product for utilizing an identification marker on a tool part to be used for determining a dimension of the tool part and to a tool part is also provided.

The present invention relates to a method for monitoring a manufacturing process, comprising the steps of: detecting a workpiece with a sensor unit of a portable device, sending the information acquired by the sensor unit to a database and applying a workpiece-specific data set, detecting the workpiece before, during and/or after carrying out a machining step or a handling step on the workpiece by the sensor unit of the portable device, updating the data set stored in the database before, during and/or after carrying out a machining step or handling step on the workpiece. The manufacturing process can, for example, relate to the machining of a board-shaped workpiece, such as a solid wooden board, a chipboard, a MDF board, a HDF board, or a workpiece made of another wood material.

In the present invention, when performing electrical discharge machining on a workpiece via an electrical discharge machine that has an electrode holder and an electrode guide, a workpiece model and an electrode-guide model are generated in advance, an interference-start position at which the electrode-guide model starts interfering with the workpiece model when the electrode-guide model is moved towards the workpiece model along an axis line (CLa) is calculated, and a position obtained by moving the electrode-guide model a prescribed distance away from the workpiece model, starting at the interference-start position, is set as an electrode-guide position. With the electrode guide positioned at the electrode-guide position, the electrode holder is moved downwards in order to move an electrode downwards toward the workpiece surface, and electrical discharge machining is performed on the workpiece.

Self-configuring component identification and signal processing system for a coordinate measurement machine
A set of respective self-configuring probe interface circuit boards (SC-MPIC's) are disclosed for use with a measurement system comprising host electronics and respective interchangeable measurement probes. Member SC-MPICs each comprises: a local circuit (LS) for probe identification, signal processing and inter-board signal control; and higher-direction and lower-direction connectors “pointing” toward and away from the measurement probe, respectively. Member SC-MPICs establish a processing hierarchy by generating lower board present signals on their higher-direction connector, higher board present signals on their lower-direction connector, and determining whether they are the highest and/or lowest SC-MPIC based on receiving those signals from adjacent SC-MPICs. They can independently perform probe identification matching operations using probe identification data from compatible and incompatible probes, and the highest SC-MPIC does this first. Member SC-MPICs advantageously pass through or isolate signals from other members in the set depending on the hierarchy, various received signals, and internal processing.
