Force-Based Peripheral Control Toggle
A smartwatch is configured to be usable to control a peripheral device. The smartwatch can be toggled between a typical or usual operating mode for a smartwatch and a mode for controlling the peripheral device. The toggling function is bound to a virtual button. Force applied to the virtual button is measured so that multiple functions, including the toggling function, can be accessed by applying different amounts of force to the button for a predetermined amount of time.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR DISPLAYING CONTENTS, AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
According to an example embodiment of the present disclosure, an electronic device includes a display that is flexible, has at least a portion located at a first side of the electronic device, and is changeable in size to which the display is exposed to the first side, and a controller configured to display first content in at least a portion of the first side. In response to a first input, the controller displays a first portion of the first content in a first area of the first side and displays a second area distinguished from the first area.
Wireless devices with flexible monitors and keyboards
A portable device (e.g., a wireless device such as a cell phone) is provided with a flexible keyboard and a flexible display screen. Such flexible components may be stored in the housing of the portable device when not in use. The flexible display screen and flexible keyboard may be expanded from the housing when the flexible components are utilized by a user. Non-flexible display and input components may be provided on the exterior of the portable device such that the device may be used, in some form, while the flexible components are stored. In one embodiment, a portion of the flexible display (or flexible keyboard) may be utilized when the flexible display (or flexible keyboard) is stored in said first housing.
SHORTCUT KEYPAD FOR VISUAL ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
Shortcut keypad system for electronic communications comprises first apparatus and second apparatus. First apparatus and second apparatus each comprise an input device, a processor and a memory. The input device comprises selectable items including first selectable item. The processor of the first apparatus receives a selection of the first selectable item, and transmits a signal corresponding to the first selectable item to the second apparatus. The processor of the second apparatus receives the signal corresponding to the first selectable item, and causes the input device of the second apparatus to indicate that the signal corresponding to the first selectable item is received. Other embodiments are described herein.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND PROGRAM
An information processing apparatus capable of simultaneously executing a reproduction function of content data and a communication function with an external apparatus includes a reproduction section configured to execute the reproduction function, a communication control section configured to execute the communication function using a communication section, an operation input allocation section configured to allocate an operation input from a first operation section to the reproduction function or the communication function, an operation input acquisition section configured to acquire an operation input from a second operation section, and a display control section configured to cause a display section to display information relating to the reproduction function or information relating to the communication function.
Housing as an I/O Device
There are provided systems, devices and methods for operating a housing for an electronic device as an input/output (I/O) device. In one embodiment, an electronic device includes a housing configured to function as an integrated housing and I/O device and one or more sensors obscured by a panel of the housing. The one or more sensors being configured to sense via the panel of the housing. The electronic device further includes a processing unit communicatively coupled to the one or more sensors and configured to interpret electrical signals generated by the one or more sensors. One or more output devices are communicatively coupled to the processing unit and configured to provide an output in response to the one or more sensors generating an electrical signal.
Display assistant device having a monitoring mode and an assistant mode
A display assistant device comprises a display, a camera, a speaker, microphones, a processor and memory. The memory stores programs comprising instructions that, when executed by the processor, enable a plurality of modes of the display assistant device. The modes include a monitoring mode and an assistant mode. In the monitoring mode, the device is configured to perform a remote monitoring function in which first video captured by the camera is streamed to a remote server system for monitoring uses. The monitoring uses include transmission of the first video to remote client devices authorized to access the first video. In the assistant mode, the device is configured to perform a second plurality of functions that excludes the monitoring function and includes a video communication function in which second video captured by the camera is transmitted to second devices participating in a video communication with a first user of the device.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device includes a housing sidewall defining an opening and a display component, such as a display cover, disposed in the opening to form a gap between the housing sidewall and the display component. In at least one example, the cavity is defined by the sidewall and the display cover with the cavity in fluid communication with an external environment through the gap. In at least one example, an epoxy component at least partially defines the cavity and can be in direct contact with the housing sidewall.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a curved screen, a housing that matches the curved screen to form an accommodating cavity, and a first button. The curved screen includes a plane portion and a curved portion. A first end of the curved portion is connected to the plane portion. The curved portion bends and extends toward the housing. A second end of the curved portion extends toward the accommodating cavity. The first button includes a pressure sensor and a trigger assembly. The pressure sensor is disposed in the accommodating cavity, the trigger assembly is disposed at the second end of the curved portion, and the trigger assembly and the pressure sensor are disposed at an interval. In a case that the curved portion receives a target pressing operation, the second end of the curved portion drives the trigger assembly to contact and trigger the pressure sensor.
Devices, Methods, and Graphical User Interfaces for Providing Feedback During Interaction with an Intensity-Sensitive Button
At a device with a touch-sensitive surface, a display, and one or more tactile output generators, a button configuration user interface that includes a plurality of tactile output settings for a button is displayed on the display, wherein the button is available on the device in a plurality of different contexts to cause performance of a respective operation in response to an input of a first type detected on the button. While a respective tactile output setting for the button is selected in the button configuration user interface, in response to detecting a first input of a first type on the button, a respective tactile output that corresponds to the respective tactile output setting is generated without causing performance of the respective operation.
