Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for generating a residual image of multi-view video. The method includes generating a pruning mask of an additional view image by mapping a basic view image to the additional view image, among multi-view images, and detecting outliers in the pruning mask using color information of the basic view image and the additional view image.

The exemplary embodiments relate to implementing a mechanism that is configured to select and insert a video advertisement into a video stream that is to be provided to a user device by a streaming service. This may include receiving a request for a video stream from a user device. In response to the request, transmitting a first portion of the video stream to the user device and determining that second a portion of the video stream is to include multiple video advertisements. One or more video advertisements may be selected from a database that includes a set of video advertisements that were previously removed from a further video stream. The one or more video advertisements may then be inserted into the video stream. The second portion of the video stream is then transmitted to the user device.

In general, in one aspect, a method includes compiling user interaction statistics for a set of content items displayed in association with a first target media document having a non-textual portion, at least some of the content items associated with one or more keywords, based on the interaction statistics, associating the first target media document with at least some of the keywords associated with the content items, and based on a common attribute of the first target media document and a second target media document having a non-textual portion, associating the second target media document with at least some of the keywords assigned to the first target media document. The metadata includes scores specific to each actor and each genre of a media title, where the scores indicate the degree to which an actor’s performance in that title corresponds to a particular genre. Electronic searches for particular actors’ performance in a specific genre thus return more accurate results that more correctly reflect how well the actors’ performances reflect that genre.

Disclosed is a system for generating personalized recommendations based on dynamic and customized content selections and modeling of the content selections. The system may receive a request with an identifier and a query, and may obtain a particular recommendation configuration based the identifier and the query. The system may retrieve a set of content that satisfies the query and that is identified with at least one content prioritization parameter specified in the particular recommendation configuration, may generate a set of models of one or more model types that model relevance between the set of content and a different event specified in the particular recommendation configuration, and may compute a score for each content in each model based on the modeled relevance. The system may present recommended content in a different order than the set of content based on aggregate scores compiled for each content from the set of models.

The extracted text is semantically searched such that specific portions or locations of video files can be identified and returned in response to a query.
