An information processing system includes an image processing apparatus capable of obtaining image data and a server-for-service connected with the image processing apparatus through a network. The server-for-service holds profile information, which defines processing executed on the image data uploaded from the image processing apparatus, in association with authorization information on a user. Thereafter, the server-for-service executes the processing in accordance with the profile information on the image data in response to a request from a terminal device or the image processing apparatus.

An information processing apparatus capable of reducing the labor and time expended by a user for an instruction in reservation printing is provided. The information processing apparatus performs communication with a server for storing files and an image forming apparatus for printing files. The information processing apparatus includes a file obtaining unit configured to obtain files shown in a print candidate file list generated based on a priority setting indicating priorities of files stored in the server among a plurality of files stored in the server, and a transmission unit configured to transmit the obtained files to the image forming apparatus.

An example non-transitory machine-readable medium includes instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to receive a job to print multiple copies of a document, process a page of the document to obtain a processed page, initiate printing of the processed page at a printer, transmit via a network the processed page to network storage, and, when ready to print a subsequent copy of the page of the document, retrieve via the network the processed page from the network storage.

An image processing service system includes an operation request accepting unit, a setting accepting unit, a payment control unit, and an operation execution control unit. The operation request accepting unit accepts an operation request for an image processing apparatus through a chat between a user and a chatbot participating in a chat service on a chat board provided by the service. The setting accepting unit accepts a setting for an operation of the image processing apparatus requested by the operation request. The payment control unit makes a payment for the operation of the image processing apparatus requested by the operation request through an electronic payment system available on the chat service. The operation execution control unit controls the image processing apparatus to execute the operation requested by the operation request after the setting is accepted by the setting accepting unit and the payment is made by the payment control unit.

Provided is an image processing apparatus that can efficiently utilize the storage capacity in image processing. A dividing unit divides inputted image data into a plurality of partial data. An analysis unit analyzes whether or not each of the plurality of partial data divided by the division unit is suitable for compression at any of a plurality of stages of image processing in which feature of image changes. A compression unit compresses the partial data at the stage when the analysis unit analyzes that it is suitable for compression. A decompressing unit decompresses the partial data compressed by the compression unit at the stage when it is compressed. A processing execution unit executes processing at the stage of image processing on the partial data decompressed by the decompressing unit.

Information apparatus and application software supporting printing over air or network are herein disclosed and enabled. The information apparatus may include one or more software components that include (1) a discovery component to discover a supported printer in a local area network (LAN) and to receive device information related to the printer (e.g., capability, language or format supported, identification) from the printer, and (2) a printing component to generate or obtain print data based on the device information received and to transmit the print data to the discovered printer. After establishing the connection to the LAN, application software (e.g., Internet browser, email, photos, documents) in the information apparatus may print digital content by using the discovery component to discover the printer in the LAN, and may use the printing component to obtain and transmit print data in a form that is acceptable to the printer for printing the digital content.

A multifunctional peripheral (1) includes a communication part (22), a storage part (21), a free space determination part (25), a confidential document determination part (26), and a storage processing part (27). The free space determination part (25) determines that the storage part (21) contains a free space for storing print data, as a first storage condition. The confidential document determination part (26) determines that the print data is not a confidential document, as a second storage condition. The storage processing part (27) stores the print data in the storage part (21) in association with user information of a user terminal (23) when the first storage condition and the second storage condition are satisfied, and communicates with the user terminal (23) and stores the print data in the user terminal (23) when the first storage condition is not satisfied or when the second storage condition is not satisfied.

An information processing apparatus and a method of controlling the information processing apparatus are provided. The information processing apparatus is operable to install and execute an application for providing an extended function, obtains, from a server, a containerized application linked to a logged-in user or designated by a user and stores the obtained application in a storage. The apparatus weights the application stored in the storage in accordance with a characteristic or a usage state of the application and deletes an application stored in the storage based on the weighting in accordance with a logout of the user.

An image forming apparatus has an office direct print function, and when a non-installed font that is not installed in the image forming apparatus is included in application data, a font substitution guidance screen is displayed on a display. A drop-down list that is an operator for selecting a substitute font is provided in the font substitution guidance screen, whereby a user can arbitrarily select a substitute font. The font substitution guidance screen displays also a sample character group having a typeface according to the selected substitute font.

Systems and methods are provided for handling print data. One embodiment is a system that includes an interface that receives rasterized print data, a memory that stores the rasterized print data; and a print controller that compresses each scanline of the rasterized print data by culling a region of leading whitespace, culling a region of trailing whitespace, compressing a data region disposed between the leading whitespace and the trailing whitespace, and inserting a tag having whitespace offset information for the data region within the scanline.
