A system for choosing a printer based on proximity comprising: a beacon to broadcast a transmission having a beacon ID; a printer to: receive the transmission, determine a received signal strength indicator for the transmission, generate a printer location signal including the beacon ID, the received signal strength indicator, and a printer ID associated with the printer, and transmit the printer location signal to a host server; the host server including a processor and a memory, the server configured to: receive the printer location signal from the printer, determine a printer location based on a predetermined location of the beacon, the beacon ID, and the received signal strength indicator, and associate the printer location with a printer zone; a printer proximity application to: receive a print request, the print request including a print data and a target zone, and transmit the print data to the printer in the target zone.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: accept a job that provides an instruction for execution of an apparatus function, the job being a delegable job to which a delegation specification is assigned, the delegation specification being used to delegate the execution to a user; and if an apparatus to be operated by the user to execute the delegable job satisfies a predetermined requirement, transmit the delegable job to the apparatus.

According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which is stored instructions that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to determine that data stored in a memory device of a printer cartridge installed in a printing device is to be updated. The printing device may be in remote communication with the apparatus via a network connection. The instructions may also cause the processor to identify update data that is to be used to update the data stored in the memory device. The instructions may further cause the processor to communicate, via the network connection with the printing device, the identified update data to the printing device. The printing device may update the data stored in the memory device of the printer cartridge with the update data.

A print control server that controls printing through an SNS includes a registration section configured to register, in association with each other, a first account that is an account of a user of the SNS and print setting information including designation information of a printer to be used for printing. An example image forming includes a print engine to form an image, a display to display a user interface window for selecting at least one of an industry or a place using the image forming apparatus, and a processor to, based on at least one of the industry or the place being selected, set an option value corresponding to the at least one of the selected industry or place as a default option value for a function of the image forming apparatus.

A virtual printer A generated in a virtual printer service included in a host computer including an OS uses a search request receiver to receive a device search request from the OS, and uses a search request responder to respond to the received device search request. Further, a print job receiver receives a print job from the OS, which has registered the virtual printer A as a transmission destination of the print job based on the response, in accordance with a specific protocol. Then, a print job converter converts the received print job, and a print job transmitter transmits the converted print job to a printer AY, which does not support the specific protocol, via a job generator in accordance with a protocol different from the specific protocol.

A terminal device may receive print condition related information being related to an actual print condition from a printer, and register, in a print intermediation server, by using the print condition related information, printer related information including actual print condition information indicating the actual print condition. The terminal device may control a display unit to display a selection screen by using the actual print condition information in a case where file related information related to a target file is to be registered in the print intermediation server after the printer related information was registered in the print intermediation server. The selection screen may cause a user to select a print setting from among the actual print condition. The terminal device may register the file related information and print setting information in association with the printer related information in the print intermediation server.

An information processing apparatus, a information processing method and a non-transitory computer readable medium are provided. The information processing apparatus includes a processor that acquires data by an image capturing unit, wherein an image of an operation target and an image of an authentication object are obtained from the data, displays the image of the operation target and the image of the authentication object simultaneously in different display areas based on the data, and performs a display according to a result of authentication based on a combination of the operation target and the authentication object.
