A system for choosing a printer based on proximity comprising: a beacon to broadcast a transmission having a beacon ID; a printer to: receive the transmission, determine a received signal strength indicator for the transmission, generate a printer location signal including the beacon ID, the received signal strength indicator, and a printer ID associated with the printer, and transmit the printer location signal to a host server; the host server including a processor and a memory, the server configured to: receive the printer location signal from the printer, determine a printer location based on a predetermined location of the beacon, the beacon ID, and the received signal strength indicator, and associate the printer location with a printer zone; a printer proximity application to: receive a print request, the print request including a print data and a target zone, and transmit the print data to the printer in the target zone.

In a printing system, a terminal device generates a plurality of pieces of print job data based on a data format list and transmit the generated print job data to a first multifunction machine, the first multifunction machine stores a plurality of pieces of received print job data, and performs printing based on print job data having the data format supported by the first multifunction machine itself when the first multifunction machine itself receives a print instruction from a user, and the second multifunction machine receives print job data having the data format supported by the second multifunction machine itself from the first multifunction machine when the second multifunction machine itself receives a print instruction from a user and performs printing based on the received print job data.

A method of automatically creating trust communities in a fleet of devices. The method includes finding candidate devices in a fleet of devices via one or more candidate discovery techniques and generating device-related data based on the candidate devices that are found, analyzing the device-related data via an analytics engine and creating one or more fleet orchestrator device lists based on the analysis of the device-related data, and automatically creating one or more new trust communities or suggesting joining one or more previously existing trust communities based at least on the one or more fleet orchestrator device lists for the candidate devices, wherein the one or more new trust communities or previously existing trust communities include at least a sub-set of the devices in the fleet, and wherein at least one of the managed devices in the sub-set of devices is configured as a root device to publish files via a file sharing function.

An information processing apparatus includes an operation device, a communication device, and a control device. The operation device receives an instruction according to an operation performed by a user. The communication device performs data communication with a plurality of image forming apparatuses. The control device acts as a calculator and a controller. The calculator calculates an evaluation value for each of one or more evaluation items designated by the user through the operation device and calculates a sum of the calculated evaluation values, as use priority, with respect to each of the plurality of image forming apparatuses. The controller transmits a print job, execution of which has been instructed by the user through the operation device, to the image forming apparatus that has gained highest user priority, via the communication device.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are configured to allow a general user to select a preset setting as much as possible even when some of print setting items are lock-set by an administrator user. Accordingly, even when the print setting item is lock-set, the general user may select a preset setting as long as there is no conflict.

The editing edits print data for a composite label to be created by affixing at least one overlay label to a base label. A printer is configured to perform a single printing operation using an ink ribbon to print an object on a tape in a single printing color thereby creating a single label. The editing includes: determining a printing color of an object; categorizing the object to one of a base object and an overlay object; and setting a print mode to one of a shortest length mode in which a single overlay label is created for each overlay object and a fewest prints mode in which a single overlay label is created for all overlay objects having a same printing color. The displaying displays a composite label image based on the print data.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores a support program for an information processing device connectable to a printer. The information processing device includes: a display; a computer; and a memory. The memory stores an operating system in which a general-purpose printing program corresponding to the printer and supported by the support program is embedded. The general-purpose printing program is configured to manage data for displaying a print settings screen on the display. The support program, when executed by the computer, causes the information processing device to perform: when a connection error that a connection between the information processing device and the printer has failed is confirmed: generating; and transferring. The generating generates notification data indicating a notification content for notifying a user of the connection error. The transferring transfers the notification data to display the notification content based on the notification data on the print settings screen.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores a support program for an information processing device connectable to a printer. The information processing device includes: a display; a computer; and a memory. The memory stores an operating system in which a general-purpose printing program corresponding to the printer and supported by the support program is embedded. The general-purpose printing program is configured to manage data for displaying a print settings screen on the display. The support program, when executed by the computer, causes the information processing device to perform: when a request is issued from the general-purpose printing program in response to the printer being selected: acquiring; generating; and transferring. The acquiring acquires status information indicating a status of the printer. The generating generates notification data indicating a notification content to be provided to a user. The transferring transfers the notification data to display the notification content on the print settings screen.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: transmit authentication information to a first image forming apparatus; acquire, from the first image forming apparatus, job information acquired by the first image forming apparatus from a server using the authentication information, the job information being information on one or more jobs corresponding to the authentication information; cause a display to display a screen presenting the acquired job information; receive, on the displayed screen, selection of one or more jobs to print using the first image forming apparatus; and transmit selection information indicating one or more selected jobs selected by the selection to the first image forming apparatus to instruct the first image forming apparatus to acquire the one or more selected jobs from the server.

A terminal device may receive print condition related information being related to an actual print condition from a printer, and register, in a print intermediation server, by using the print condition related information, printer related information including actual print condition information indicating the actual print condition. The terminal device may control a display unit to display a selection screen by using the actual print condition information in a case where file related information related to a target file is to be registered in the print intermediation server after the printer related information was registered in the print intermediation server. The selection screen may cause a user to select a print setting from among the actual print condition. The terminal device may register the file related information and print setting information in association with the printer related information in the print intermediation server.
