20230049741 · 2023-02-16 · ·

According to an aspect of an embodiment, operations for detection of API compatibility across software versions are provided. The operations may include receiving an input associated with a software application. The operations may further include determining first information. The operations may further include extracting a set of data from one or more web-based sources based on the determined first information. The operations may further include executing a set of operations including one or more pattern searching operations on the extracted set of data to generate a compatibility result. The operations may further include controlling a display device based on the generated compatibility result. The display device may be controlled to display assistive information which informs about a compatibility of the one or more APIs or the functions used in the source code of the software application with respect to the second version of the software.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BATCH AND SCHEDULER MIGRATION IN AN APPLICATION ENVIRONMENT MIGRATION

A method of batch and scheduler migration assesses a batch job, scans it's scheduling mechanism and components, ascertains a quantum change for migrating the batch job to a target batch service and forecasts an assessment statistic that provides at least one functional readiness and a timeline to complete the migration of the batch job. The method generates a transformed batch job structure by breaking the batch job according to the target batch service while retaining the scheduling mechanism. Further, it updates containerized batch service components of the target batch service as per the forecasted assessment statistic and the transformed batch job structure, and migrates the batch job to the target batch service by re-platforming the updated containerized batch service components.

Implementation for a heterogeneous device

Implementing a design for a heterogeneous device can include mapping, using computer hardware, a plurality of applications of a design for a device to a plurality of domains of the device, wherein each domain includes a different compute unit, performing, using the computer hardware, validity checking on the plurality of applications, detecting, using the computer hardware, a conflict between two or more of the plurality of applications from the validity checking, and, in response to the detecting, generating a notification of the conflict using the computer hardware. Operations such as automatically generating a boot image, debugging, and/or performing system level performance analysis may also be performed.

Anti-pattern detection in extraction and deployment of a microservice

Disclosed are various embodiments for anti-pattern detection in extraction and deployment of a microservice. A software modernization service is executed to analyze a computing application to identify various applications. When one or more of the application components are specified to be extracted as an independently deployable subunit, anti-patterns associated with deployment of the independently deployable subunit are determined prior to extraction. Anti-patterns may include increases in execution time, bandwidth, network latency, central processing unit (CPU) usage, and memory usage among other anti-patterns. The independently deployable subunit is selectively deployed separate from the computing application based on the identified anti-patterns.

MACHINE READABLE INSTRUCTIONS BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY

According to an example, machine readable instructions backward compatibility may include determining changes between first and second sets of machine readable instructions, and generating a backward compatibility switch. The backward compatibility switch may be implemented in the second set of machine readable instructions to selectively revert functionality to functionality of the first set of machine readable instructions.

CONTROL INFRASTRUCTURE

In an embodiment, the infrastructure comprises a script execution module that comprises a compiler that compiles scripts, having instructions that reference device properties, into virtual-machine programs, a virtual machine that executes virtual-machine programs, and a script manager that stores scripts, retrieves scripts, and loads scripts into the compiler. In addition, the infrastructure may comprise gateway(s), communicatively connected to physical device(s). The gateway(s) may each comprise processor(s), driver(s) that each communicate with at least one physical device using a communication protocol to read and/or write device properties of the physical device, and a device manager that maps device properties referenced in the virtual-machine programs to device properties used by the driver(s).
