CARD READER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
A card reader includes a card lock mechanism for preventing pulling-out of a card from an insertion port when the card is jammed in a conveyance passage. The card lock mechanism includes a motor, a lock member driven by the motor to be moved between a contact position and a retreated position, a knob mechanically connected with the motor, and a detection mechanism for detecting the lock member located at the retreated position. The card reader includes a control part which is configured so that, after the motor is driven to move the lock member to the contact position, when the detection mechanism detects that the lock member has moved to the retreated position, the control part executes a tactile stimulation sequence in which the motor is driven to apply movement to the knob so that attention of an operator operating the knob is called in a tactile manner.
Transaction object reader with analog and digital signal interface
A card reader includes a digital connector such as a Universal Serial Bus (USB) plug or an Apple® Lightning® plug. The digital connector includes a corresponding connector interface, which provides voltage to at least a card reader interface and an integrated circuit (IC) of the card reader. The card reader interface outputs an analog transaction information signal upon reading the card. The IC generates a digital version of the analog transaction information signal, encrypts the digital version, converts that into an analog audio signal. The audio signal can then be sent to the connector interface, which converts it into a digital signal such as a USB or Apple® Lightning® signal that is sent by the digital connector to a mobile device. Alternately, the audio signal can be sent to a microcontroller that converts the audio signal to a digital format such as USB, and then to the digital connector.

Information processing device and method, to prevent hot insertion and extraction of SIM tray
The present technique relates to an information processing device, an information processing method, a record medium and a program which can prevent hot insertion and extraction of an SIM card. A removing unit removes a tray storing a storage member. A removal detector detects an operation of starting removal of the tray before the removing unit removes the tray. A power controller stopping power supplying to the storage member when the removal detector detects the operation of starting the removal of the tray may be employed. The present technique may be applied, e.g., to a personal computer.

Control method of card issue device and card issue device
A control method of a card issue device may include a card direction determination step including taking the card into the card reader before the card is issued and determining a direction of the card; and a card issue step comprising issuing the card is executed based on the card direction determined in the card direction determination step.

CARD READER
A card reader (1) is provided with: a pre-head (50) which detects change in the magnetic field by magnetoresistive elements (21, 22); a voltage applying circuit (23) which applies a voltage to the pre-head (50); and a reference voltage circuit (30) which superimposes a reference voltage (V0) onto the voltage signal (S1) from the pre-head (50); the card reader is also provided with a signal processing circuit (24) which outputs a detection signal (S4) on the basis of the difference between the voltage signal (S1) and the reference voltage V0. Further, the card reader (1) is provided with a coupling capacitor (26) which is inserted between the pre-head (50) and the signal processing circuit (24), and a switching circuit (27) which connects the coupling capacitor (26) and the signal processing circuit (24) at the same time that voltage is applied to the pre-head (50) from the voltage applying circuit (23).
