A printing apparatus includes a printing unit configured to perform printing on a recording target, a projection unit configured to project a printing sample image onto the recording target, a detection unit configured to detect a user operation within a projection area into which the projection unit is configured to perform projection, and a control unit configured to control the printing unit based on a printing condition, wherein the control unit changes the printing condition, based on the user operation that is detected by the detection unit.

The present invention relates to a method of printing a print job by an image reproduction system. The print job specifies a printing step on an image receiving medium and a finishing step in or on the image receiving medium. The method comprises the steps of receiving the print job by the image reproduction system and receiving a trigger by a controller of the image reproduction system that the finishing step is not to be performed. In such a case for a digital image comprised in print job data of the print job, at least one digital finishing visualization image of a predetermined visual appearance of a result of the finishing step in or on the image receiving medium is obtained as well as a position of the digital image for merging the obtained at least one digital finishing visualization image with the digital image. The digital image is updated by merging the obtained at least one digital finishing visualization image with the digital image at the obtained position. The updated digital image is printed by the image reproduction system.

In a method or controller to execute a proof job of a copy print job, the proof job including a printing of a proof sheet, at a first point in time first raster data for the print sheet of the copy print job is provided. After expiration of a first provisioning time period at least one first job is inserted for printing a plurality of copies of the print sheet into a print buffer. A second point in time is determined at which the print buffer includes a first number of copies of the print sheet that are to be printed, the first number being such that a time period for printing of the first number of copies is greater than or equal to a second provisioning time period for providing of second raster data for the proof sheet of the proof job. After expiration of the second provisioning time period a second job is inserted to print the proof sheet into the print buffer so that copies of the print sheet and the proof sheet are printed according to an order of the first and the second jobs in the print buffer.

An image forming apparatus includes a controller configured to obtain PJL data via a data interface, refer to filter data stored in a non-volatile memory, the filter data associating non-target PJL data with target data, the non-target PJL data being PJL data not intended for causing the image forming apparatus to a particular process, the target PJL data being PJL data intended for causing the image forming apparatus to perform the particular process, and when the obtained PJL data is the non-target PJL data associated with the target PJL data in the filter data stored in the non-volatile memory, convert the obtained PJL data into the target PJL data associated with the non-target PJL data in the filter data stored in the non-volatile memory.

There is provided a PC that performs print control on a printing apparatus which stores a plurality of pieces of color conversion information for color-converting first color information included in print data into second color information different from the first color information, the PC including a PC control unit that generates the print data including first designation information for designating in the print data a conversion target of the color conversion and second designation information for designating color conversion information used for the color conversion among the plurality of pieces of color conversion information stored in the printing apparatus, and transmits the generated print data to the printing apparatus.

A PC includes a first set information DB that stores a plurality of pieces of first set information including color conversion information for color-converting first color information into second color information different from the first color information and a print setting corresponding to the color conversion information in association with each other, and a PC control unit that obtains a designation print setting which is a print setting designated for print data, causes a PC display unit to display a color conversion list including one or more options of the color conversion information associated with the print setting corresponding to the obtained designation print setting based on the plurality of pieces of first set information stored in the first set information DB, and controls color conversion to be performed on the print data based on color conversion information selected from the color conversion list.
